A surprisingly good deal for the price it's at. The pencils themselves feel like genuine quality and work like a charm, same goes for the erasers. the quantity of items in this package is more than welcomed as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a mechanical pencil.

These pens are great for writing. Amazing for work and drawing. They have a metal threaded grip so it is very hard to slip down. The whole this is metal and very durable. The lead that it comes with is great very soft and fairly light altogether great.

I am an engineer, and I have been using 0.5mm mechanical pencils for decades, to draw initial schetches and schematics. It's a part of my thinking process, but I don't want to have to think about the pencil, too. This pencil feels good in the hand, and feeds lead smoothly. It feels solid, and I expect it will last until I lose it. The leads are not bad, but I prefer my old standby, Pentel High Polymer HB leads. The Nicpro leads are comparatively brittle, and don't glide across the paper as smoothly - but that's only a very slight difference. The Nicpro leads are still among the three best leads I have used. One problem I experienced is that the last inch of lead drops out of the pencil when I try to advance it. This also happens with my Stadetler and Parker 0.5 mm pencils, but not often with my Pentel or Pilot pencils. I think it is a matter of needing some very light friction between the lead and the support tube at the tip. A little care to hold the pencil horizontal while advancing the lead prevents this from happening. The tip eraser works fine, but it's so small that it won't last very long. The included block erasers are not just a bonus - they're necessary! An improvement to the kit would be to include some of the small eraser inserts as well. Finally, I was aggravated by the bar code label attached to the pencil. It was difficult to peel off, and it left behind an adhesive mess. I had to use solvent and spray cleaner with vigorous rubbing to get it off. Nikpro - if you're listening - don't put sticky labels on your pencils!

I bought this one specifically for the modernized black pencils, they are balanced weighted, good quality, all metal with brass inside, very much so can be given as a gift, Black color with orange writing.

Excellent packaging and organization, right sized for heavy handed writing or for art work, or both. I wish the lead was a little darker, but still fills almost all graphite sketching needs for a mechanical pencil. Cost efficient, and absolutely great value!

These pencils have a very premium feel and are indeed made out of metal. However, there are some flaws that just get in the way of enjoying writing and sketching with these pencils. Pros: - Really nice feel- They are very solid and the clasp is extremely strong - Erasers are lovely- They are hard erasers but they work very well. - Price- You get three metal pencils with a ton of led and three brick erasers for under $20 which is amazing Cons: - Lead quality- The lead is super soft and almost feels slippery while writing. The lead is also so light that I question if it's even #2 almost has an opaque look. I struggled to get that nice crisp line with these. - Grip- If your hands tend to sweat these are very hard to hold on to. There a grip etched into the pen but there just isn't enough of a groove to hold onto. - It unscrews- Right below the grip the cone shape that goes to the tip unscrews while you write. I think this is the most annoying thing about it because it happens maybe once every hour you write with it. - Top covering eraser won't stay on- After a while of taking that cap of the eraser and putting it back on, the cap won't stay and has become very loose. In summary these are really nice premium feeling pencils for a great price but come with some fairly intense flaws. In the end I'd choose a Bic HB #2 over these.
