Actually Works!!!
I have to admit, I was highly skeptical of this. I have 2 cats, and we recently moved from a house to a small apartment. My cats were terrified of every noise. One of my cats wouldn't urinate because he was so scared. Two Vets recommend this. I decided to try it. It actually works!! They are more relaxed, not scared and back to themselves!! It took about 4 to 5 days for me to notice the difference. I now highly recommend this!!

Aggressive Cat? You Need To Try This Stuff
I have two cats, they do not get along with each other but they tolerate each other. One of my cats is a biter. She bites me for no reason. She was a rescue so I put up with her terrible habits. I've had her for 8 years. Sadly, I don't remember her as a kitten because she was so standoffish and had nothing to do with anyone. My vet advised me to try this to see if it could help her 'chill out'. I purchased this and got it quickly. It's very easy to use, just screw the bottle in and plug into the wall. There was no change in my cat immediately, but I did start to notice changes within 2 weeks, she would come out and sit on the sofa, she - very slowly - started to become more sociable. She and my other cat do not get along still, but she actually tolerates him also, doesn't like him but doesn't try to bit him....or me anymore. I started using this stuff about 2 years ago and have been using it ever since. The atomizer does wear out after time, and I realized my cat was getting back to her old ways. I checked the atomizer and it was still almost full. I noticed after about a week that the atomizer was just not working anymore. I read that they do wear out so I bought an off brand atomizer claiming to work with the particular product. It did not. My cat was becoming unsociable again. So I bought the name brand and it is again working for my cat. She actually sleeps on the bed with me at night, something she never did before. She's really a sweetheart but she just needed some help. I'm not sure how this stuff works to make cats calm down but it is the real deal. My only complaint is that I have lots of refill bottles, I only needed the atomizer that plugged into the wall. Feliway does not sell the atomizer alone, so I had to buy it with another bottle of Feliway, which is OK, I will use it, but just wanted the option for the replacement part, which is why I gave this product 4 stars for value. Otherwise, will use it for life.

Noticeably effective
Short version:PROS - VERY effective at reducing stress levels and decreasing inappropriate behaviors.CONS - The diffuser refills are only effective for 20 - 25 days (Two other relative, in separate homes, also report they only seem to be effective for 20 to 25 days).- The cost. VERY expensive when using the recommended number of diffusers in the home and then having to change them sooner than the recommended effective date.Long version:I have seven cats who, while have free access to a large fenced yard and limited access to several hundred acres outside of the fenced yard, primarily spend their time indoors. There are conflicting personalities between them, in addition to added stress of intruding strays. With the high stress levels came spraying indoors and increased aggressive and inappropriate behaviors.I use 3 Feliway diffusers, one at each end of my home and one in the basement. It has literally saved their lives and my sanity. The diffusers do not last a full 30 days for me, usually around 25 days. I can tell when they are no longer effective, as the bad behaviors escalate. It's not immediate...It takes me about 3 days to figure out why the spats and spraying have become noticeable, when I check the diffusers (I write the approximate date for replacement on the refill bottle)it is close to the change date. Within one day of replacing the refills, all is calm again.I also have found the spray to be VERY effective in discouraging marking/spraying when applied every two to three days to the preferred objects. When applied to a pair of leather gloves that I use to "handle/pet the feral strays, it is extremely effective in calming them and reducing the number of "strikes/bites" to the gloves. It always amazes me to watch these very feral cats calm to the point that they not only allow me to pet them but relax enough to roll on their back for me to rub their tummy. I use the spray liberally around the area where I feed them, which also helps discourage marking from both my cats and the strays. And I really mean it when I say it is a life saver. About 6 months after moving into my new home in the country, an intact male stray (that I had neutered and named Melvin) decided to make himself a home with my four other cats (three females and one male, all altered). Being an adult (estimated 2+ years), it initially cause some tension with my other cats but eventually we all settled into a fairly stable routine. However, I had to continually work with Melvin to lessen his aggression during play.About two years after that, my best friend was in a bad car accident, and while she survived, she could no longer care for her three cats...so I adopted them. Even though I took 2 months to slowly integrate them, they created tension among my 5, especially Melvin. Over the next year, Melvin's stress levels increased to the point of spraying, aggression and overall depression. I tried several medications (my sis is a vet) but to no avail. His spraying became uncontrollable, to the point where he deliberately sprayed objects next to me, and eventually ON me. While he never really got rid of all of his stray-tom mannerisms, it was as if something sort of snapped in his brain, that while he wasn't mean, he was simply not right and definitely not happy. Having exhausted all other solutions (even using Feliway spray), I had him euthanized.Less than a week after the heart breaking euthanization of Melvin, one of my males (from my original four) started spraying in the house, and also one of the males of my friend's three. Medication did not help either of them. As a last ditch effort, I started using the Feliway diffusers and applied the spray to all spray-desirable objects on a daily basis.I am VERY happy to report that while there is an occasional marking and spat (usually aggravated by the presence of the strays), the situation remains manageable. And while I still morn for Melvin, I breathe a daily sigh of relief that I don't have to make that decision again. So, the Feliway diffusers and spray, while expensive, are most definitely worth it and a total godsend for my seven fur-children.

Didn’t work for my cat
I really wanted this to work because it has so many good reviews. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any change in my cat’s behavior. He still seemed stressed and continued marking around the house. Not saying it won’t work for other cats, but it wasn’t worth the price for us.

Dangerous Product with Deceptive Marketing
First a little background, we have five cats. One (Pete) has been blind since birth. His sibling Benjamin started getting a little to aggressive when they all played. Based on Feliways claim that it’s supposed to calm and reduce stress we bought a plug in.After a few days we noticed Pete started spraying everywhere. We immediately took him to the vet to make sure there was nothing medically wrong and they were 100% confident it was behavioral. We racked our brain for a few days and tried everything. Added more litter boxes, created more safe spaces, nothing worked. After exhausting all efforts we started thinking it may be the feliway, so we unplugged it. We put it in a bag and placed it outside far away from the house. We aired out the house and that was the last day Pete sprayed. A leather chair, a table, curtains and hundreds of dollars in vet expenses all wasted because of this product that did the exact opposite of what it’s supposed to do.We did more research into feliway and found that all of the studies they reference are paid by feliway. Even worse there was also no control group in the studies. So it is basically just “take our word for it”.The independent studies that have been done saw absolutely NO positive impact. Basically what this product has done is taken a cats natural pheromone and amplified, heated it up and sent it into the air. It is basically creating an imaginary cat with a super strong scent to basically dominate everyone else. This cannot be good for a cat’s natural hierarchy. In Pete’s case he smelled another cat and since he could not see one he felt threatened and started trying to reclaim his space. Blind cats naturally have a heightened sense of smell so this must have been super stressful for him.I feel the marketing of this product is highly deceptive and is cruel. If your cat is stressed or misbehaving, take the time to find out why they are behaving the way they are and find a more natural way to resolve the situation. There are other options. This I don’t think is one of them. If you do decide to try it, use with caution. In the cases where it has changed the behavior of the cat I worry it is out of fear not out of relief.

I Was Skeptical
I truly was very skeptical about getting this product. I volunteer at a shelter and all the cat folks who foster said it was great. All the rescue folks I know recommended getting it from Amazon, by the way and I've been very happy with price etc. Some people have said the diffusers fall out of the wall socket. I just pulled the prongs apart and didn't have any problems. Others have suggested putting on a timer, which sounds like a great money saving idea. Here's my story:I had, in 2012, my black cat Rufus (who's probably 10) and my stepkid's two cats, about 5, male and female littermates. I had been keeping them all completely separated for over a year. Finally, I decided that is stupid and unfair to the sibling cats. The female is not very friendly and can extremely "witchy" so I was very worried. She could be a real pain!Note: We live in a 1910 era home with low ceilings. If had high ceiling, I'd add more diffusers. And all the cats were spayed/neutered.I put one Feliaway diffuser in the basement near my cat's litter box and food and one on the second floor in the littermate's room by their litter box. I probably should have added a 3rd one on my first floor in retrospect. And I should have added one more litterbox and invested in a really decent large cat tree. (But I digress....)I open the door to the littermates' cat room and let everyone roam freely. I will say I separated them at night, putting the sibling cats back in their room with a Feliaway diffuser. I did this so Rufus and we could have a break as the step-cat were extremely nocturnal.I will say it took about a month but the male cats started napping on the same bed. It took about 2-3 months but eventually all the cats could be in the same room together without being stupid and hissy. I do have pictures of all 3 on the same bed, napping. As an added bonus the female was nicer to humans as well.About a year ago, the step-cats moved out and I stopped using the Feliaway for my black cat. I still had the diffusers and and refills left. In Jan. 2013, at the last moment (without warning) the step-cats plus one (an evil Siamese) were in our basement. So now we have the littermates, the Siamese and Rufus our cat all together. There was a whole bunch of hissing, swatting etc. It wasn't pretty. I did remove our cat Rufus from the basement to de-stress him but even so it still was ugly.I plugged the diffuser back into the basement, added a litterbox and within a day, the three cats were fine. Not best buddies but fine. I kid you not, it was in a day.Two weeks later the three cats left and I gave my stepkid the Feliaway diffusers as she was moving into a new place. She said it made a HUGE difference. She could tell when it ran out because the tensions ran high.I'm ordering more because our own cat Rufus has had some anxiety issues and I really do believe that putting another Feliaway diffuser upstairs where he hangs and has his litterbox and food is going to help calm him down, especially as we are going to have pet-sitters in the house. The upshot of this incredibly boring story is the Feliaway diffusers made a huge difference when we had multiple cats. Even my husband, a huge skeptic, admits that it works very well. I think it will help Rufus as a single cat too.I was a total skeptic. I'm a believer now.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
The BEST investment ever!!!My neutered male cat would pee on the carpet between my toilet and wall; even though he uses the litter box for his duties.I have tried EVERYTHING to try to stop his peeing behavior. From tinfoil, citrus spray, and other pet safe deterrents. I was getting frustrated because NOTHING WORKED!Before I called my veterinarian I decided to put this in my cart and save it.I called my veterinarian and explained to her what was going on. Sure enough she recommended me to use this! I didn’t even have to say anything about it!!Let me just say that I’m beyond happy with this!! So much that I’m going to keep buying this. I’m half way through the bottle and I haven’t seen any accidents outside the litter box. There’s not enough stars to add on here because I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!! It’s safe for dogs and there’s no smell. Not only does it help for peeing accidents it’s calming diffuser as well. It has a tiny night light and it has a nice look to it! It’s easy to screw together and pop it in the electric socket. It’s good on power and portable. Just put it in the room where your cat hangs out the most. It’s definitely worth the money!!

its the worst product I have ever bòught on amazon
Please i'm only writing this so other customers are safe... its the worst product I have ever bòught on amazon. It melted with stings of plastic all the way to the ground with in 15 mins of me plugging it in and the liqiud container went flying across the floor like a bomb due to which my lights flused ...if I wasn't in the room to switch it of my room would have caught fire and to think of it my cats were in the same room still horrified by this event. So i complained to the company and all they said was can't refund the product as the date expired. ....like I wanted another of thier product. ...not even for free...

Very disappointed
I bought 3 of these, and every time I plugged one in, the diffuser worked for a short time and then stopped completely. Very disappointing, especially for such an expensive product.
