I'm wondering why the vendor was not up front with the information though. No mention of a demo in the description. If you like to play guitar, this game is a lot of fun. Thanks to the other reviewer who clearly described the process for entering the key to get the full version activated. I have not tried transferring the songs to the 2014 version. I could not find the transfer tool in the client software. Even if the content doesn't transfer, this is still a fantastic value, IF you've got a cable. Review: Good, but Rocksmith 2014 blows the original away. - The original Rocksmith is a very good game, but I gave up on it quickly because I felt like I was forced down a path of learning specifc songs that I wasn't that interested in. Thankfully, I gave the series another try with Rocksmith 2014 which blows the original away. It's easily a 5-star game. I've picked up my guitar again and am playing about an hour a day and have seen significant improvement. There is a lot more freedom in how you approach the game in the 2014 edition. I did recently purchase this original game again, but only because I've moved from the Xbox 360 to my Mac and needed the original Rocksmith to use the "Disc Import Tool" to get the Rocksmith 1 songs (and, annoyingly, some of the DLC is only available with a Rocksmith 1 license). I have a steam , and ubisoft account already so this was the way to go for me. It works fine. Make sure you have a steam account or plan on creating one.
