WWE: CM Punk: Best in the World (2-Disc) (Blu-ray)On June 27, 2011, CM Punk forever altered the course of WWE history with a blistering rant, proclaiming, "Day in and day out for almost six years I have proven to everybody in the world that I am the best... on this microphone, in that ring, even on commentary. Nobody can touch me!" Since riding into the scene as an extra in John Cena's entrance at WrestleMania 22 to defending the WWE Title in main events all over the world in recent years, the "Voice of the Voiceless" has backed up that statement. Now, WWE fans get an unprecedented look inside the life and career of the most controversial Superstar of this generation. The first-ever documentary to focus on CM Punk traces his rise to the top of WWE, from his early success on ECW, his divisive perpetuating of the Straight Edge subculture, to becoming internationally revered as the best wrestler in the world, and all the five star matches and verbal "pipe bombs" in between. The production is packed with new interviews and commentary from Punk himself, as he takes the viewer inside his day-to-day life. Plus, relive the signature matches that have punctuated his WWE career and vaulted him into the championship spotlight.]]> Review: Best in the World - The recent WWE documentary featuring the current reigning and defending WWE Champion, CM Punk is one of the best documentaries that the WWE have ever released. Following Punk from his beginnings in his home city of Chicago, through his development in ROH and his eventual arrival in WWE, Best in the World covers CM Punk's life thoroughly and entertainingly. Featuring fascinating interviews with behind-the-scenes decision makers, the story of the best wrestler in the world from indy wrestler to WWE's most unlikely champion is full of heart and humor. The matches create a nice story of Punk's time in the WWE, from his days in the developmental territory of OVW to ECW to the main roster of the WWE. There are no matches from Punk's time in ROH, which can be excused. The fact that there are clips from ROH on the documentary show that the WWE was determined to do this story right. If you are a fan of CM Punk, like I am, this is a must have compilation. If you are a fan of the WWE, you owe yourself a viewing of Best in the World. Review: Truly the Best in the World - Gosh, I do not know how many times I have watched this DVD since I bought this. I probably have to say I have watch this DVD at least 4-5 times. This DVD is just this darn good. Before WWE brought CM Punk to our TV screens, this DVD goes back to his upbringing and his indy days before making it in the big leagues. I am glad the WWE has finally allowed CM Punk the chance to shine on TV. My only minor gripe is the DVD does not include any matches from his indy days. I guess the WWE didn't want to pay for the rights to feature them but other then that, it feature his big matches such as his first time winning Money in the Bank, his classic with Rey Mysterio, and his Money in the Bank title match with John Cena. If you want to know more about CM Punk and his background, this is a great DVD. I think even non-wresting fans can get into him as he comes off as a hard working wrestler who earned his right to be on top. Definite A+ if you want to add a DVD to your wrestling collection!

A great set for any Punk fan
A great look at CM Punk's first run in WWE

Amazing.
If someone asks me later in life who inspired me to be a wrestler I will say, Shawn Michaels, and CM Punk. I was really starting to second guess my career path of being a wrestler and then I watched this. CM Punk inspired me all over again. This is the greatest DVD that WWE has ever put out. And it even helps knowing that CM Punk was an Executive Producer of his DVD, really picking and choosing what goes on the DVD and what doesn't. I've watched it twice, Amazon delivered it to me on the day of its release and this is my first ever Blu-Ray purchase. I got a Blu-Ray player on that day this was released, I'll never forget. It was the greatest day. I highly recommend this DVD, if at all possible, grab the Blu-Ray edition for extra goods. Even if you hate him, you should still buy this DVD because you're a wrestling fan, not a pick and choose fan. If you don't buy this, I feel sorry for you.

A must have for Punk fans (and fans of wrestling in general).
I'm a huge Punk fan, so ordering this was a no brainer. Having watched it, I have to say it is one of the best WWE documentaries I've ever seen. It was great to hear from both Punk and his close friends talk about how he got into the business and how he struggled and fought his way to where it he now. If there is a flaw, it's that I could have watched another 2 hours easy. (Which makes the Blu-ray a really good choice, because it has a hefty dose of bonus material to watch.) If you are at all a fan of Punk, buy this. If you are a fan of wrestling, it's a cool look at how a wrestler goes from wrestling in the backyard to the WWE.

Best DVD In the World? Close enough.
The sXe Savior, the Voice of the Voiceless, the Best In the World, all of these monikers are synonymous with the one and only CM Punk. As a long-time fan of CM Punk I couldn't wait to get my hands on this three disc set and for the most part it was well worth the wait. The first disc follows Punk's earliest years in wrestling from the backyard, to the Indies, to ECW, and his ascent to the top of the WWE. The big draw here is that CM Punk had total creative control and that is certainly apparent here. This is CM Punk the way you like him; brutally honest. Punk tells viewers his honest, deepest thoughts about his family life, getting started in wrestling, various promotions he's been with, his issues with other "superstars," and he exposes a lot of dirt in the wrestling business. The first disc is a pretty big eye opener and it really gives you an intimate view of who CM Punk is. If you're already a fan you'll admire him even more and even if you're not already a fan of CM Punk you will be after you see his story. Disc two of this exceptional set has six matches. They're from Punk's earlier years ranging from some Indie action to his ECW and WWE matches. Think of disc two as the Face Era of CM Punk. But if you're anything like me, when it comes to wrestling you came for the Heel Era of CM Punk and that's what you get on the third disc. Punk vs Jeff Hardy, Punk vs Rey Mysterio, Punk and Jericho, it's all here. And of course the best match on the dvd, Punk vs Bryan is present in its entirety. While I enjoyed the Best In The World there are some shortcomings here. First and foremost the DVD extras are sparse and relatively unimportant. If you must know everything there is to know about CM Punk like "What's that hat he wears?" or "Where does he get his tattoos?" then sure these extras are great. But they feel (and perhaps are) tacked on. I would much preferred to have more epic shoots from CM Punk and this is really what hurts the set. Apart from the infamous pipebomb of 6.27.2011 you don't really get much else. An entire disc could have gone to CM Punk's shoots alone and all we get is one. Not only that but as a huge Nexus fan, I was baffled as to why there is no mention of that stable and everything they achieved under CM Punk. Not once in all 3 discs is the Nexus ever mentioned and unless my memory deceives I don't recall a "N" ever being flashed. As much as I want to give this DVD five stars I simply can't. I'm a huge fan of CM Punk and just like Punk I have to be honest. What's here is certainly good, no doubt about it. But it could have been phenomenal if not for the severe and obvious lack of additional content. What you have to understand is that whether Punk is in the ring, on the microphone, or on commentary, no one can touch him. And it's the combination of all these things that make CM Punk the Best In The World. But given that the DVD mostly covers Punk's in ring action and really just that, it seems like it's portraying him as almost being one-dimensional and we all know better than that. Now thankfully we live in the Youtube era so anything the DVD is missing you can absolutely look up on Youtube. In fact if you're reading this review you probably already have. So I won't be too harsh in my review where that is concerned. All-in-all if you're a fan of CM Punk it's a no brainer and you might even have this box set already. If you're not a fan of CM Punk then get this set. You need to know what he's all about.

Having been a CM Punk fan for so long, I didn't hesitate to buy this DVD. Simply put, it lives up to all expectations. It may just about be the greatest documentary of a wrestler that WWE Home Video has ever released. There's a rich variety of guest speakers, so many honest truths, a quality presentation and above all else, a most captivating subject. Complete with an excellent assortment of deleted scenes, and the best WWE matches of CM Punk - against Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, John Morrison, Chris Jericho and John Cena - this is truly one of the most essential packages that wrestling fans can afford to own. CM Punk is not only the best in the world, his DVD is as well!
