I'm 5" 11' about 200 pounds I usually wear a large but I went with a medium and it fits me just right. If you want the jacket to be a bit more loose I would go a size up. My only comment would be that I wish it had a pocket on the inside but that's it. Overall great jacket, great price, would 100% recommend and buy again. How is it when comparing with Cascades Explorer jacket?** A: Hi Huy, Both jackets are nice and each has their uses. The Ascender jacket has a tightly woven shell exterior which is nice against the wind, but doesn't have much fleece on the inside for insulation. The Cascades jacket is all fleece, so is able to insulate against the cold. But if there is any wind , it will go straight through. The best of both worlds would be to have a fleece jacket on with some sort of wind shell over the top of the fleece. When it gets too warm, start shedding layers. Hope this helps. **Q: Does this keep out wind?** A: I'd say it does. The wind can blow up from the bottom, but the jacket has elastic around the bottom so if you tighten it, it'll block out the wind. **Q: Is it breathable?** A: I am able to take breaths in it. The fit is awesome, even with the sleeves (I'm on the tall side). The soft shell material is really neat and appears to be waterproof. Also, the jacket is warm for something as light as it is, and looks great. I really can't say a bad word about it. Also, the prices here on Amazon for these jackets are pretty competitive compared to what I've seen elsewhere. As an added bonus, Amazon got it here a day early and just in time to wear on a weekend trip! UPDATE: Nine years after buying my original jacket - I lost it. I looked high and low, and looked at other jackets in various stores, and couldn't find anything I liked better, so days shy of the 10th anniversary of buying my first (I'm not that good on memory - I consulted my 2014 orders list) I ordered a second. It's just a nice as my first one! The only thing different I notice is that I think it seems slightly larger than my first one. It fits me just a bit looser (which is actually good since I'm a few pounds heavier than a decade ago). I think sizes are getting bigger across the board, and Columbia may be doing that, too.
