I've used a few glucose monitors over the years, and each brand comes with its own strips. I finally settled on the Contour Next meter and strips for a few reasons: highest rated / best reviewed glucose monitor strips cost one third of my previous strips works with a small blood sample second chance if you don't get enough blood seems to be very accurate Compared to other brands I've used, these are very good and cost a lot less. I have monitored my blood sugar as a routine for years. I picked up the Contour system as I was transitioning to the Apple Health Kit eco system as the Contour system is Bluetooth capable and will automatically populate the Apple system with the readings. I have noticed that there will be random and very occasional "outlier" readings that don't fit with the established patterns of my readings over time. My numbers run in the 90's prior to eating and a 105-115 level at various times after eating and sometimes around the 120's if I have been enjoying rich food and alcohol which is not as a general rule. There have been random readings pop up with this Contour system in the 150's and it has been early in the day prior to taking on many calories. One can only wonder if there is some sort of deficiency with the system.
