Mr. Pen- 6 Inch Pocket Size Ruler, 2 Pack, Small Architectural Scale

These Mr. Pen 6-inch pocket architectural scale rulers have been an excellent addition to my drafting and measuring tools. Their compact size makes them incredibly convenient to carry, while still providing the accuracy needed for architectural drawings, floor plans, and other detailed projects. Having two rulers included is also a nice bonus since I can keep one at my desk and another in my tool bag. One of the first things I noticed was the quality of the construction. I didn't buy these for the architectural scales, I bought them for the shape, and the material. I wanted a small straight-edge I could easily pick up, without fumbling around, and that I wouldn't have to worry about rusting, rotting, warping or being gnawed on by mice. (Yes, mice, my shop cats aren't catching all of them.) It checks all my boxes, and I got exactly what I ordered, and exactly what I expected. Should I need more, I'll order more, but so far, I haven't managed to lose or break either of them.

I bought this two-pack of pocket-size rulers mostly for the novelty. I like to draw on-the-go and was looking for a pocket or purse-sized drawing kit. I didn't find such a thing, actually, but I did run across these little rulers from Mr. Pen. I bought them because they looked cute. They're actually wildly useful. They have different scales on them, and they're easy to read. They tuck nicely into the pen-loops in my bag as well as into my colored-pencil organizers. They're handy to have for measuring small things, and also for drawing small things. I'm really glad I ran across these little rulers. They're good quality. And they make me smile a little, every time I use them!

Pro - really a nice quality bit of kit. Fits perfectly in my pen case, sturdy but light, nice anodized finish. You can put enough pressure down on the upright/vertical spine to hold it in position with just a couple fingers and it is quick and maneuverable on small sketch pads, slides between double loop wire bindings! it is going to absolutely rock as a straight-edge. Just feels classy! Con - the limited surface area has forced the creators to put use label sizes that cause the measured rule lines to NOT line up from face to face. (I think this could have been avoided with better font choice- or just setting the alignment off the zero tick instead). -this really isn't a deal breaker, no one is going to do serious drafting with this tool, I mean, hardly any serious drafting is done on paper anyway. BUT I have gotten burned on this twice now when laying out a sketching grid for perspective. I just have to remember to ensure the tick marks are aligned on the working edge. Again, not a huge deal but it feels like an annoyance that could have been pretty easily avoided.

Keep one of these in each of my journal pouches. Perfect for precise drawings on grid paper and a compact size.

Sometimes you see a product picture and it’s obviously photoshopped into whatever scenario the picture is depicting. I saw these scales and was like “no way they’re that small”, but they are indeed that small! Perfect for me to carry around in my pocket at work. They’re the width of chopsticks, ink pens, pencils, other things of the same size (you get the point), and they’re super lightweight. A downside is the readings are also small. If you need to use this more often than every once in a while, you probably want a bigger scale, but for me it’s perfect. I’ve bought Mr. Pen products in the past and I like the variety of things they offer. Everything I’ve gotten from them feels sturdy and well made. Their prices won’t empty your wallet and you get a mustache sticker with every order!

This is a great little ruler with a really nice form factor. I like it a lot, it's just not what I thought it was when I bought it. I was really hoping for a ruler with both imperial and metric, but it has imperial only (of various gradations that I guess get used a lot for architecture). I wish they made one that was both inches and cm/mm, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Cute little rulers but it’s so small and skinny my finger gets in the way when drawing line. Cant use it to draw lines. Also the markings so small not good for older eyes needing readers.

Small, practical, and really well made! Perfect for keeping in my pencil case or desk. Great quality from a reliable company, I love it!

These are useful but I find them a little too small, particularly from a handling perspective. If you've got young nimble fingers the size might not be an issue.

6" Architectural Scale with easy to read graduations.They seem to be of good quality and the graduations are holding up so far without fading.
