They fit well and don't usually ride up during the night. They are soft and quiet as advertised. So far they have washed well. They are only water resistant, not water proof, but unless we get my dad the type of heavy duty, sweat inducing, plastic covered mattress they use in hospitals, I doubt I will find anything truly waterproof. I would recommend using a machine washable pad which helps to absorb any spills and seems to work well with these.
