Nice Pan!
Nice pan! Cooks/fries well! Cleans well! Dishwasher safe! Great size for the two of us!

This is a quality pan
I didn't expect the pan to be this high quality at this price. The pan is solid and has weight unlike many pans in this price range which have thinner gauge aluminum and are light and cheap feeling. The handle looked big in the pictures so I thought this would be another aluminum pan where the handle out weighs the pan and makes it off balance but not so. The pan is nicely weight balanced and the pan stays firm on the stovetop, never unbalanced by the handle. The handle is also firmly attached by substantial stainless steel rivets to the pan and the insulation on the handle is quality and works. It doesn't look like the handle will ever become loose. I bought the 8 inch pan because any smaller and you cant get a spatula in it to flip anything. The stone material coating is awesome and very non-stick and super easy to clean. Highly recommended.

Excellent fry pan, in use daily.
I've had this skillet for a year now, both my wife and I use it almost daily and it is wonderful. Cooks nicely on our gas stove and we only wash it once a week or so. Otherwise we just easily wipe it out to keep it seasoned. After a year's use it isn't scratched or showing any flaws other than a little discoloration on the bottom. The non-stick surface works well. We have the glass lid for it and when I cooked three steamed eggs at a time, I don't even need a spatula, they just slide out smoothly with unbroken yolks.

Best under $20 pan on the market
If you can get past the hype, much of which isn't true, this is a great little egg pan or omelet pan. No, it's not 100% non-stick without any oil, as advertised. You should use a small amount of lubricant like oil or butter and you should never use a knife on the pan because it WILL scratch. That said, it's a great little pan that would be a good value even if it wasn't non-stick. The aluminum the pan is constructed with is fairly thick and heavy and seems to be plenty sturdy enough for day-to-day use. For the price, I've never seen better. Edit: I've owned this pan for a year and my opinion is the same as it was the first time I used it. This is, hands down, the best non-stick pan I've ever used. I use this pan nearly every day and it looks and performs like it did when it was brand new.

great non-stick pan, but not very heavy
This is a tough little pan and I'm glad not to worry about the non-stick filling coming off in the food. I'm able to make over-easy eggs without adding any fat to the pan (which is the main use of this small skillet). The only downside is that it's not a heavy-bottomed pan, so you need to keep an eye on things so they don't burn. The heat distribution seems to be good, which is often a problem in lightweight pans.

Great little pan!
Great little egg pan. I’ve been looking for a non toxic alternative for my eggs. I mostly cook with my cast iron pans but don’t like the way they discolor my scrambled eggs. Plus they stick. I only use about 1/2 tsp of oil, butter, or my favorite is bacon grease, and doesn’t stick at all

Starfrit Junkie
Yes, I am a Starfrit "The Rock" junkie. I have been on this Earth MANY decades, and of those many decades I have been in search of the best nonstick cookware. Most are great in the beginning but quickly wane and become a worthless mess. Well, Starfrit "The Rock" is the best I've found. I have spent a small fortune on countless cookware claiming to be the best, but this is the one that continues to perform year after year. My one little mini wok that I have had for eight years still continues to fry eggs to perfection without sticking. My one "test" for non-stick cookware is the "Bologna test." If I can fry bologna in it and it continues to remain non-stick then it's a keeper. Most fall far short, but Starfrit always makes the grade.

This is a very good pan
It was not the most expensive but nothing sticks to the surface, the shape is good, and the weight is evenly distributed.

Every day, this pan rocks my omelette's world!
Cooking is a passion of mine. I own Lodge cast iron, a variety of stainless steel cookware, and more. Recently, I wanted to find a great 3 egg omelette pan: something durable, cheap, and supremely non-stick. I believe I've found this with "The Rock." For years, I'd used my stainless steel sauce pots for scrambled eggs and omelettes because, as a poor student, that's what I had on hand. The pots are oddly sized for the job, flipping is a pain, and soaking after use is a necessity unless I use a truckload of oil. I desperately wanted something to create healthy food without too much oil or butter. I was dubious about springing for non-stick cookware; however, I'd seen the Rock at Costco a couple of times. Costco being one of my most trusted consumer barometers, I decided to take the plunge. •• The Non-stickiest Non-stick •• Terrified of Teflon? According to Starfrit's website, The Rock has NO coating -- Teflon or otherwise. The non-stick is made possible by the manufacturing process of its signature pebbly texture. A neat concept, but how does it stack up? As you can see from my pictures below this review, the Rock is ridiculously non-stick. That's a standard 3 egg omelette with half a teaspoon of coconut oil (probably less, honestly). The eggs slide right off with a tilt of the pan. Goodbye sticky egg leftover messes; hello extra free time! I legitimately sound like an infomercial, but it really is stupid easy. •• Durability •• When I hear horror stories about non-stick cookware, it usually involves one of three things: 1. Overheating the pan causing the coating to wear out quickly. 2. Scraping the pan with metal, causing the coating to come off into food. 3. Only cleaning via dishwasher. The common factor is... people not respecting the limitations of the cookware. All of these situations can be avoided, and your non-stick can be used for years to come. Non-stick is supposed to be used at a MAXIMUM of medium heat on your average stove-top burner. Regarding the dishwasher, it's SO easy to clean inside of 5 seconds, I don't use it. It IS rated dishwasher safe, though. To go with it, I purchased this Chef Series FLEX Silicone Spatula 600F Heat-Resistant Spatula . As you can see from the pictures, I don't have to worry much about leaving it on the side of the pan since it's resistant up to 600 degrees farenheit. I got tired of spatulas that were either too flimsy or too thick for perfect omelette flipping, so I did some research and picked Di Oro living. They're also carried at Costco, Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc. This particular spatula is the perfect flipping partner. It's durable yet soft and extremely flexible. I anticipate a long, loving relationship between my cookware :) •• Picking A Size •• The perfect omelette pan differs between cultures. Some prefer 7", some 8", and some 9". I picked 8 because it is an excellent medium. 6.5" inch = This tiny pan will fit 1 egg, sunny side up. It's great for finishing off your Bibimbap order but generally too small for omelettes. 8" = Perfect size for 3 egg omelettes, in my opinion. You can make that judgement on your own once you see my photos below. Because it's the "perfect size," there's always less to clean, which is a huge bonus. 10" = I saw this at Costco and compared it to various other sizes. It's slightly too large for my daily use. It'll make omelettes fine and has room for more than 3 eggs, but that extra room makes flipping SLIGHTLY more difficult. Trust me, it's so non-stick you shouldn't have a problem. Just consider your needs when picking the size! •• Conclusion •• I couldn't recommend this pan more. It's exactly what I was looking for. It isn't a great, multi-purpose piece of cookware. It's a specific instrument in the kitchen that handles low-temperatures like nothing else. I make a ton of omelettes and sauteed veggies at low temps; it's perfect for those applications. I'll update the moment it show signs of wear or slows down on the stickiness. Happy cooking :)

Good Quality, but Consider the Size for Your Cooking Needs
I recently purchased the Starfrit The Rock 8" Fry Pan, and overall, it is a good product. However, I didn't realize it was so small, so I'll be ordering another bigger one to better suit my needs. Firstly, the quality of this fry pan is impressive. The Rock.Tec surface treatment truly lives up to its promise of superior non-stick performance. I have cooked various dishes with minimal oil, and the food effortlessly slides off the pan without any sticking or residue. Cleaning is a breeze as well, thanks to the non-stick coating. A simple wipe with a sponge or cloth is all it takes to restore the pan to its pristine condition. The construction of the fry pan is durable, and it feels solid in hand. The handle is ergonomically designed, providing a comfortable grip and heat resistance. I appreciate the sturdiness and reliability of the pan, as it gives me confidence that it will withstand regular use over time. However, the one downside is the size. The 8" diameter is smaller than I anticipated, which limits its capacity for larger meals or cooking for multiple people. It is more suitable for individual portions or smaller dishes. As a result, I have found myself needing a larger fry pan for certain recipes and occasions. Nevertheless, the Starfrit The Rock 8" Fry Pan remains a good product in terms of its performance and quality. I have been pleased with its non-stick properties and overall durability. I have no doubt that it will continue to serve me well for smaller cooking tasks. In light of my experience, I will be ordering another fry pan in a larger size to better meet my cooking needs. If you are in search of a compact fry pan for individual portions or smaller meals, the Starfrit The Rock 8" Fry Pan is a reliable option. However, if you frequently cook for larger groups or need more cooking space, I recommend considering a larger size from the same product line. The Starfrit The Rock 8" Fry Pan is a good product that delivers on its promises of non-stick performance and durability. Just be mindful of its smaller size and consider your cooking needs accordingly.
