ART Splitcom Pro 2 Way Microphone Splitter and Combiner, Monitor

Bought this to combine matched mics but unfortunately it doesn't pass phantom power to both sides so it doesn't fit our needs. Works fine as a splitter though where phantom power isn't an issue.

I use this for voiceover and A/B comparison (trying out a processor/preamp). I was looking at other options (JS-2 at a premium price) but I saw this in regular use at a well-known cartoon studio I worked in and decided to give the ART ProSplit a try.I've not detected any colorization of my mic audio and zero noise/hum/distortion added from inserting this box into my signal flow. I've never needed the ground lift or input pad.It's an EXCELLENT value for what I've gotten out of it.I go from my mic into the ART; then into my USB audio interface with one channel set to nominal levels and channel 2 set to -12 lower. When recording at home, I arm and record two separate channels. That way I can record or stream important takes to another studio or my DAW software. If I get too loud I can usually rescue any clipping in my DAW using clean channel 2 audio, sans clipping. This comes in handy with video game and cartoon projects where whispers and screams can range pretty widely in a take. It's already saved my bacon!

It's doing the job a much more expensive product does, and it's doing well. I have a weird use case, where I need one mic for 2 different computers simultaneously, and even with different impedance, it is functioning as advertised with very little additional gain required on either computer.For those who want to know, I am using a Fethead with Phantom power from the primary interface, and it is powering an SM7B with plenty of headroom on both interfaces (less than half the available gain on either).

When used as a splitter, there is humming present on at least one side (I had one side going to a PA and another to a recording device with phantom power). The noise worried me so I quickly unplugged one side. I had originally wanted to be able to leave both sides plugged in at all times, but I'm pretty sure that would be a mistake since true isolation wouldn't cause a hum and I fear damaging equipment. Now I mainly use it as a way to easily change the destination of the signal by switching out cables at the device instead of the microphone. This device is an improvement for my setup, but I'm not positive it was worth the price. I've never used it as a combiner and have no insight as to that functionality.

Compact, easy to use and travels well.

I am using this device to connect 2 microphones to one input on my mixer, since my mixer didn't have enough inputs for additional mics. The only problem I'm having is related to phantom power. Since I have both inputs on this connected on this splitter and only one output coming out of it, phantom power is only passed through to one of the inputs. Since 2 of the microphones I'm using require phantom power, I needed to split the mics in such a way that 1 mic requiring phantom power goes into one input on this splitter, and the other input is used by another microphone that doesn't require phantom power. With this setup, it's working fine. I don't have any other complaints. Volume is also not an issue, unlike other similar splitters that I have tried. I would recommend this device to others that need a way to connect 2 microphones to 1 input on a mixer.
