Good product, great supplier
It happened only once, but I fell when I was climbing two steps onto our low deck. I wasn't hurt except for my embarrassment, but I decided to look for a weatherproof stainless steel railing that I could grip when going up or down the two steps. Nothing out there that would attach to the top of the deck and curve around to be fastened to the side of the deck, like an inverted C. I did discover what some vendors called a D railing or a 4 railing or a 3-curve railing, all of which had both posts mounted topside. All were designed for use on boats or swimming pools. On Amazon, I found this. It's not naked stainless steel, but I had read that tests for grab bars showed less bacteria on plastic than on stainless steel surfaces. So this was fine with me. It's a tad wobbly when I hold it going down the steps, but rock solid when I climb up. In neither situation do I feel endangered. The only problem was finding a spot on the wooden deck where the heavy-duty screws could be driven into supporting joists. Several locations allowed screws only to attach to deck planks and I wanted to avoid seeing an actual image of the railing being ripped out by someone leaning or pulling too hard. Finally, a location was found so that one base was fully anchored into a supporting beam and the other base could be secured to a joist with two screws. It stands tall and functional. Maybe one day I'll paint it with weatherproof paint so that it matches the color of our deck furniture, but it stands as a bright white safety aid so I'm not hurrying. I had ordered it with two escutcheons (covers for the screw mounts) and deck mounts and waited for delivery. The vendor called with advice that the deck mounts were for use with swimming pool ladders, not with deck rails. The ones that would be strong enough for this kind of hand rail would cost a bit more, but they'd just send me the proper parts without charging extra. But I insisted on paying the additional cost because the advice would end up protecting my safety, which is worth more than a few dollars. They sent me what I needed without additional charges. There are some nice people out there....

Stays cool
I’m glad I did my research, because this handrail is exactly what I needed. I was hesitant to install a handrail by myself because I’ve read they need to be grounded/bonded, however with the Saftron bases I purchased it wasn’t necessary. I also have a chatahochee/river rock deck which posed a little challenge, a cement deck would have been much easier but I still managed to install without any problems. These handrails are very sturdy, stay cool in the blazing sun and don’t rust. Very happy with it.

We love the look and safety these rails provide. The price was the best we could find. Additionally the customer service from the seller is great. I contacted them through my Amazon account and they responded quickly.

Works Perfectly and Easy to Install with the Right Tools.
Works very good for what we use it for which is to steady ourselves as we enter and exit the pool. It is sturdy enough to support our weight. It does not wobble or sway. I used this with the Saftron 6" mounting bases so the unit fits well down into the base. I installed the bases using metal lag bolt sinkers that go into the concrete approximately 2". You need to use a hammer drill and good masonry drill bits to get the sinkers that far into the concrete. I first used a 3/16" masonry bit to pilot drill all the holes. Afterwards I used a 1/2" masonry bit to set the sinkers and used the lag screws that came with the bases. Took about 1 hour total to mark, drill and bolt down the bases. Dropped in the rail and tightened to snug the 2 set screws on each base.

Looks good, functional.
I’m not a structural engineer but in my humble opinion the quality is there it was easy to install only drawback was like in most things it was too expensive however it functions and it’s sturdy and it looks good.

Great Price, Fast Delivery.
Easy to install with the right Tools. I used a Makita Rotary Hammer 1 1/2 inch drill to drill the holes in the cement. The covers that cover the bottom do not fit over the parts that were drilled into the ground that the pool pole goes into. We will need to order the chrome ones with rubber flap to fit over the pole holder. The diameter of the Pole Holder is around 2 1/2 inches. If they had the correct covers I would give it a 5 Star rating.

Still looks like new
I've had the pool rail for 2 years now. It still looks like it did when I bought it. Aside from the contractors cracking the concrete when they drilled the holes for the bolts, it's perfect. Bill

It works and it didn't need to be grounded. A bit expensive for poly based product - hope it lasts!
