This brand seems to have a milder and slightly less smoky taste to it than the common Guayaki (yellow bag) brand. The leaf pieces look even and high quality, and there are stem pieces as well but they are quite small and the bulk of the mix looks more leaf-ish. Not that I've had experience with "bad" maté but everything looks good & tastes great to me. I appreciate how well the ziplock on the bag closes. There are no instructions on the package for how to brew, so you have to look that up yourself. Would buy again. Smooth, and smells some heavenly!
The tea smell remind my childhood every time I make the tea. I noticed that “good” for my tummy, I feel comfortable to my stomach after I drink it.

Interesting Taste
I think this tea seems like good quality. I have a friend that lived in South America and recommended yerba mate tea to me. I had not tried it before, so I didn't know what to expect going in. The flavor is a bit strange, but I don't think it is because of the brand of tea and is instead just how yerba mate tastes. It is apparently a type of holly bush/tree. And that is how it tastes. I didn't notice any special feeling from drinking it, but it tasted interesting and not bad. I recommend giving it a try, but it is an acquired taste.

Loose leaf tea
I've been on the lookout for loose leaf teas to cut down on my use of single-bag teas which apparently, as we've now heard in the news, leach microplastics from the materials from which the bags are made. This tea fits the bill. I put a teaspoonful or so into my fine meshed tea brewer dispenser and pour hot water over in a large mug. Let it steep for three minutes and it produces a refreshing, slightly grassy (in a good way) tea that can be sweetened or enjoyed as is.

Decent-quality tea leaves. Tastes different than Yerba Mates I drank in Argentina
I didn't try to use the Fermentaholics Yerba Mate leaves for brewing Kombucha, so I can't say how it would taste if it was fermented, but I have tried to prepare it as an ordinary Yerba Mate, in a metal cup with a bombilla, using 160F water. I also tried it as Tereré, which is a sort of cold brew version of Yerba Mate, that's served with ice. I think I preferred Fermentaholic's mate as a chilled beverage, with fresh lemon. The loose leaf Yerba Mate tea they sell is not overly dusty or "stemmy" and didn't clog my bombilla, but the taste was not quite what I remembered from the Argentine brews I'd sipped while on vacation. That could have been for any number of reasons, and the flavor wasn't bad, just different, so I still gave the product a 5 star rating.

Seems to be quality
To be fair this is the first time I have tried Yerba Mate Tea. I love tea, but not coffee. A friend mentioned they had recently given up coffee for Yerba Mate and I figured I had to try it. This tea reminds me of Dandelion Root tea, and also coffee. It has that deep strong flavor, so I can definitely see the appeal for someone who likes coffee. I don't love it, but I think that is a taste thing, nothing on the tea. The tea itself brewed nicely, with none of that powdery feel of a cheap tea. It is nice and smooth. I thought it was a neat touch that the product package has a webpage to go to for more details about the tea, though the webpage didn't have a ton of info. Overall, I feel like this is a quality tea that if you like Yerba Mate Tea you will probably deeply enjoy.

Great Yerba Mate!
Yerba Mate is a favorite for me as well as kombucha so, I was intrigued by this option with the extra guidance on using with kombucha. This option provided a great experience with the first brew - opened the bag and the aroma was nice and strong and the leaves appeared to be high quality and evenly cut. I decided to make a quart of cold brew using a combination method of hot brew with a small amount of water then adding fresh, cool water to let it become a cold brew sitting for several hours before straining and the results were amazingly good. I also tried this combined with a sparkling tea beverage and it really took that up a level in flavor. Next up, will be working with this in kombucha and I can’t wait. Great value, taste, and certified organic - 5/5 would recommend.
