I’m almost certain it didn’t have any smell once she was dry. I felt the smell factor was only there when I had the shampoo in my hand or smelling the bottle. Maybe this is just my experience. However, I have not re purchased. I really hope this helps you. The sprays are awesome but baby shampoo is better for us. **Q: Would this be the best of your shampoos to use on a standard poodle who gets matts quite easily?** A: As a detangling shampoo I would say YES try it on your poodle. However I probably wouldn't dilute it. Recommended dilution rate for that shampoo is 10:1 (10 parts water to 1 part shampoo) but I find this far too runny and end up using more. I would suggest trying neat first and massage it deeply into the fur. Make sure you thoroughly rinse off until squeaky clean as it is strong shampoo. **Q: how many washes does a 4 ltr container do and is the amount used dependant on the size & breed of dog ?** A: A good shampoo. Regarding use, yes it depends on size of dog and how dirty it is. I use a pump on the bottle, this helps to save quantity used. Make sure the dog is thoroughly wet through, this helps to save on shampoo. Hope this helps. **Q: I have a standard poodle do ang of you use conditioner after this shampoo or is the shampoo sufficient?** A: Hi. This is quite a strong shampoo. I find i only need a 150ml to 2 litre jug to mix before applying to coat. For a standard poodle you may need 3 x 2ltr jugs, depending on how dirty it is. Its quite soft on the coat. However, each dog varies. I find dogs fed on raw food tend to have much dryer fur than those who don't. To prevent from over conditioning its probably best to use a coat conditioning spray rather than a conditioner. This way you can add or build up the amount of conditioning the dog needs.
