Does it works in egypt? And does it has a temprature control bottom?

Both the manufacture customer service persons answered differently about whether this is a dual voltage product. I am going to Egypt too and would like to get a flat iron that works but the manufacture answers are confusing. Kathy

Do you have to use a lot of force to get the plates to touch when using?

No. I have thick and curly hair that is normally a tangled mess, but with this straightener I have to use minimal force and it makes my hair look smooth and shiny. I've used straighteners in the past that work well but make your hair frizzy and dry, but with this one you will not have that problem

Is it really 15.3" long?
