So, with an upcoming trip to Croatia I thought I'd try Pimsleurs Croatian... and, exactly as the Brazilian lessons, it proceeds in a logical and well-paced way. AND, much to my delight, I am learning to speak Croatian at a very basic level! I love it and cannot wait to visit Croatia and NOT have to constantly ask, "do you speak English!" You DO have to put in the time. I do much of my studying in the car... during a 30 minute commute works perfectly. Because the language is more difficult than other Romance languages, I'm finding it necessary to do each lesson twice. But, it is an effective and fun way to learn the language, and that's all that matters to me. I highly recommend the Pimsleur method. It WORKS! Review: Pronunciation of the individual words is broken down clearly and concisely. - I am currently on Lesson 6. I love the fact that it takes only a half hour a day. I listen to it on my work. It's also great that each lesson builds on the lesson before it. You never have to worry about not remembering something, because they do repeat it several lessons later but in different ways. I just hope when I get finished with all the discs, there is another program that follows. I have relatives in Croatia, so I need to say more that just a tourist. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good method, questionable priorities *by V***E on April 24, 2016* I actually really enjoyed the Pimsleur method, which is far more interactive and effective than I expected based on the language on tape programs I tried 10+ years ago. My only reservation is that it requires a very alert mind. When I was even a bit sleepy and tried to take a lesson, the pace was too great and it barely stuck at all. The main problem I had with this program is the vocabulary it teaches. While there may have been some underlying logic to the order in which it taught things, I would have preferred to know how to say "Bathroom" or "Store" or "Can I?" before knowing how to ask a woman "Would you like to have something to drink at my place?"
