If you spray, cut the material 50/50 with lacquer thinner for the first coat. The second and third coats are 70/30 (lacquer/lacquer thinner). Sand lightly after the second coat using 320 grit sandpaper and use 0000 steel wool after the third coat unless you like it shiny. If you use a brush to apply, 2 coats will work.
