A Prayer book for our times, it speaks to today's Jew, relating the thoughts and words of our heritage to the mind and heart of modern, sophisticated Jews. Includes: The complete Hebrew text completely reset in crisp, modern type Scriptural sources Clear, concise instructions Hebrew subheads New, highly readable English translation of the entire prayer services A clear, inspirational commentary on every prayer, and an introductory overview providing perspective and insight Attractive, clear page layouts Lightweight, easy-to-handle opaque paper Special sections explaining in detail the laws of the prayer service and all special customs and observances Prayer services that are easy for everyone to follow Review: Sooo Good! - Love this! But it does not contain prayers for Canada, America or Israel and their military. Contains all prayers for waking up and throughout the day until night time. Also, Holiday, parsha, the writings that go with it. I guess this is the difference in the Ashkenazi and Sephardic volumes. Review: Good content - Nostalgic

Spectacular Siddur for the price and size
Beautifully bound and strewn with thoughtful commentary from tons of sources, for how compact it is it's really hard to do better :) I love especially how deep the kabbalistic origins of some prayer traditions are clearly explained and sourced in their own right as thoroughly as possible, it's been great learning about how medieval sources such as Maimonides and the Zohar influenced so much contemporary prayer tradition, it's also helping me become generally more observant in my daily life.

Awesome and comfortable Siddur!
This is an excellent, personal sized Siddur! I am just starting my conversion process and have come to realized that I have been living a few of the Orthodox ways already. I like the size of this Siddur, not too small or thick, could easily fit in the pocket of my cargo pants :) The font is very nice, even with my aging eyes, and the flow and layout of this Siddur makes sense to me. Overall, I and very happy with this purchase and all of my Artscroll purchases!

Absolutely Artscroll
I have used Artscroll for prayer books for many, many years. I was hopeful that this siddur was the quality I was used to and I was not disappointed. I just needed another one and this is what I expected. If you aren't familiar with Artscroll, there is no comparison. It is easy to read with notations that make praying doable for the novice and includes all the necessary for everyone else. This is Hebrew-English edition.

Great siddur, but so many editions
Aside from the annoyance of having all transliterations in ashkenazic pronunciation ("shabbat" -> "shabbos," etc.), this is a spectacular siddur, full of information that can help those who don't know all the traditional laws and customs of Jewish prayer learn. I love the "laws" section in the back, and really appreciate the instructions throughout on when to stand, bow, etc. If it had a little more commentary, it could almost replace my rabbi! My understanding is that the sephard versions still have the ashkenaz-style transliteration, but are organized a little differently to fit sephardic services better. But be careful when ordering, because there are a lot of editions, and amazon doesn't always describe them accurately. Probably the best for everyday use is the pocket-size hard cover, because it's small but durable. But here are the ISBNs of the various editions of the Complete Artscroll Siddur: 0-89906-650-X = full-size hardcover ashkenaz 0-89906-654-2 = pocket-size hardcover ashkenaz 0-89906-655-0 = pocket-size paperback ashkenaz 0-89906-657-7 = full-size hardcover sephard 0-89906-658-5 = pocket-size hardcover sephard 0-89906-659-3 = pocket-size paperback sephard Note also that Amazon doesn't always send out the correct version. I ordered a pocket-size paperback ashkenaz edition, for example, and received the full-size hardcover ashkenaz. But amazon will take it back and replace it for free if they make a mistake, which is one more reason I keep buying stuff here.

i take it with me almost everywhere
This is the second siddur I have bought, the first one being a transliterated artscroll siddur in ashkenazi, which I wish I would have bought in sephardic instead, but at the time I didn't know the difference in translation. I prefer the sephardic because most of the endings of words are what is quoted in the congregation I attend... (for instance: ashkenazi= shabbos, sephardic= shabbat) this siddur covers more prayers than I knew existed, but of course, I have only been on this journey for 8 months. The typeset is fairly easy to read, and the binding seems to be holding together well. My two complaints are that the siddur came out of the package slightly damaged ( there was a slight tear at the top of the cover of the binding, and a few of the pages are quite wrinkled. But this siddur will be with me for a long time, I hope. I love having hebrew on one side, and english on the other. It is helping me to learn hebrew.

Siddur Nusach Sefaradi
I think this Siddur is great for people who is starting on this huge world that is davening. The only problem is the letters are too small, so difficult to read for those who are not used to read Hebrew, and it is a little bit confusing when gets to the point where you need a minyan or not. But translation is very good and very good complements.

A SIDDUR FOR EVERYONE
This siddur is the book we wake up with, to pray at home and at shul. Most of the modern orthodox congregations use Artcroll as the chumash, siddur, and mahzor in their shul. Sometimes reading the notation is so fascinating, indicating that tzadikim are involved throughout the editorial process. Most useful is the indications on when to bow, stand, repeat. This is prayer, flowing naturally and guiding you even if you are a beginner. If this siddur is to be gifted to geir or non-observant, guidance should be offered. This is however the style and viewpoint of the haredim, with their belief of superiority to other congregations. For the conservative, egalitarian, liberal or reform movements, this book will grate at your belief systems. Since I am modern orthodox, I ignore some of the insensitive and stale views expressed in this siddur. When reading a textbook, expect bias and intolerance. I have friendly relations with other styles of orthodoxy, but prefer chabad for their openess to other people. The binding survives heavy usage because of the quality. Naturally, Amazon is the best price on the internet.
