This shelf pack is awesome :) They weren't too hard to put up. 1. Find your studs and decide on your bracket spacing (very flexible there) 2. make a line using a level, marking where you want the self, 3. hold up a bracket and mark the holes, 4. pre-drill holes, 5. use included heavy lag bolts to install, 6. pop on the wire shelving, and 7. install the plugs along the back to make sure it stays put. Sooo simple. :) You really could do it with one person, but two people make it go faster and keeps materials together and reduces trips up and down a ladder. The metal on this is pretty heavy duty. We bought the Hyloft hooks that work with this shelving, and they hold bikes and tools really well. I can't foresee ever straining or maxing out this shelf with the usual stuff a household uses! It's pretty heavy duty. We have a bike carrying hitch on one, and it's like there's nothing on the shelf. It will really hold what it says it will (and possibly then some.. there was a warning sticker inside that said they take no responsibility for their product if you put 400 lbs on the rack. 400lbs?? What on earth could you put on a shelf to exceed stability like that? Lead bricks??) We love the design, the quality, and easy install so much, we're already looking at putting up more!! We have our carport back from the clutter!! :D Will update if anything comes up as far as rust/quality issues down the road. But these are up way high, so even in our notorious sideways windy rains, nothing should ever get wet. So far, I would highly recommend. This product was everything we were expecting, and a little bit more. And insanely good prices at 50.00 for a 2 pack!

Pros: Large capacity; Attractive stainless steel design; does its business well. Cons: N/a thus far. Bottom-Line: I like my new HyLoft 967 45-by-15-Inch Wall Shelves. Our house had no basement! Not a pretty fact but there it is. So that presents a storage problem, as is there is precious little of it. So the garage has become our place to store stuff that would normally be shoved into the dark innards of the basement. So I bought and put together a multitude of floor-standing four shelf units; instant storage after installation of course. But things change and over time the garage had become unruly and I hate unruly. And we are about to make a new car purchase and while there would have been room in the garage to park it, I want the shelves gone. Enter the HyLoft 967 45-by-15-Inch Wall Shelf, 2-Pack I ordered from Amazon.com for $60.00 a pair. The Product The HyLoft 967 45-by-15-Inch Wall Shelf, 2-Pack is an all-white ensemble that one installs along the walls of your garage via (6) ¼" x 2.5" hex screws per shelve. The HyLoft 967 shelves are made of strong, durable steel with patented low-profile brackets. Each measures 45 by 15 inches for more than 45 square feet of storage space. Once installed, each shelf will hold up to 150 pounds. To install the shelves you will need a drill with a 3/16" drill bit, and 7/16" wrench, or socket wrench and 7/16" (11mm) socket. Installation will take about 10 minutes per shelf. And added bonus: the HyLoft 967 is a one-man installation job. My Thoughts I like my new HyLoft 967 45-by-15-Inch Wall Shelves. The 2-pack is economical, easy to install (given the proper tools), is strong enough to hold everything that used to find a home on our floor shelves. I ordered (3) boxes and installed all six shelves around the perimeter of my garage leaving the floor empty and ready to receive my new four wheel mode of transport. And my garage looks brand new and eerily empty.

Pros: 1. Easy installation. Takes about an hour per shelf, of which most of the time is spent locating the studs through the sheetrock. Seriously, someone needs to make a really good studfinder. 2. Holds up a lot of weight. 3. Offers a lot of surface area 4. Well built. Sturdy. 5. Good quality bolts and other hardware Cons: 1. The shelves are held onto the support brackets with zip ties. Would be better if there was a bolt on option. Summary: The installation is straight forward and simple, and the instruction manual is pretty well written. The shelves are very sturdy and I have no doubts that the shelf will bend or fall down. The lag bolts that come with it are good quality and I had no problems during the install. As stated above, the majority of the time was spent trying to precisely located a stud through the sheetrock. After trying out one set of shelves for a week, I ended up buying 2 more sets to line the entire wall of my garage. HyLoft also sells hooks that attach themselves to the bottom of the shelves to give you even more options for storage. I would highly recommend those.

I’ll be honest, I was initially pretty skeptical about these Hyloft Steel Wall Shelves after reading other reviews mentioning they can be a bit unstable. I really wanted a dedicated spot to get my RTIC 52qt cooler off the garage floor, so I decided to give the 2-pack a shot. After getting them up on the wall, I’ve realized that while they are solid steel, they aren't exactly "plug-and-play." The Install: Not for the Tool-Light What I like is the heavy-duty feel of the steel once it's actually in the wall. However, "easy to install" is relative. If you have a power drill with a 1/2” wrench bit, you’ll be fine. If not, be prepared to use some serious muscle to get those lag screws into the wood studs. You're definitely going to need a stud finder and a level to do this right—check out my video to see the full tool setup required. The "Slip" Factor The downside—and it’s a big one—is that the shelves do slip, just like other reviewers warned. There’s a noticeable shift that could be a major concern if you live in an area prone to earthquakes or other vibrations. To fix this, I had to use zip ties (which are not included) to stabilize the wire decking so it doesn't move. You kind of just have to trust your own "MacGyvering" to make it feel 100% secure. The Size Constraint My biggest gripe is the width. I bought these specifically for my RTIC 52qt cooler, and it barely fits. I actually have to lay the cooler down on its side just to make it stable on the rack. If you’re planning to store a 52qt or larger cooler, this set probably isn't the right fit for you. I really wish the platform was just a few inches wider to accommodate standard large coolers easily. The Verdict If you’re tired of clutter and are handy with a drill and some zip ties, these are worth trying at least once for smaller bins or gear. They aren't the "perfect" out-of-the-box solution, but for the price, they’re one of those utility items that gets the job done if you're willing to put in the extra effort.

I put 5 of these racks up over my garage door all the same level. I wasn't sure when ordering that 15" was really deep enough for the items I wanted to store. However, it turns out to be a pretty good size. It easily accomodated plastic bins (horizontally positioned) and various sports equipment (suba gear, baseball gear, inline skates ...). There is some flexibility in attaching the racks so that you can offset to the left or right. That works out nicely when doing a long row of racks. The materials seems like good quality. The racks are heavy, the lag bolts seem strong, and the brackets seems secure. The directions were good. It took me about 30 mins per rack to: locate the studs, measure so that all 4 shelves align, mark the bracket holes, drill the pilot holes, screw in the bolts, and attach the racks. It could be done more quicky if you were doing them at a lower height or not making them all line up. I recommend using a cordless drill to screw in the bolts 90% of the way and then manually tighten with a socket wrench. It would take too long to use a socket on all 6 bolts per rack. Bottom Line: at $25 per rack, this is a good value in storage. The installation is easy, the materials are good quality, and you have options on how you want these aligned.

As others have said, quality shelves with easy installation and priced right. Very pleased with the product. Went easily in to some studs in the garage, in an area where I knew I would be moving the shelves around. I've got a lot of weight on the shelves already holding things like seed and mulch. Holding up well. I've also purchased the track shelves from Rubbermaid for our garage, and as a comparison, the tracking obviously has bit more flexibility, but installation is a bit more difficult and a little less clean. These shelves feel much sturdier than the track storage. Update 4/29/2016: Still love these shelves, I purchased the HyLoft Add-On Storage Hook Accessory for HyLoft Model-540 Ceiling Rack which worked well with these shelves. I wish I had purchased the hooks while installing the shelves, as it would have effected the heights of installation. If you think you might want to hang stuff under your shelves, this is a good option and I would suggest you purchase the hooks with this.

I needed a shelf that was more thn 12 inches and less than 24 inches. This was it and a very good price from a well known storage company. It is sturdy. I gave it a 4 in assembly because a lot of time is required to make sure it is level. My garage wall was a bit wavy and made leveling difficult without a helper. A good stud finder and a four-foot level are needed. The bolts are very substantial, and a power driver is very helpful as a rachet driver is a slow process. A wrench would be a lot of work. I predrilled using their suggestion to soap the bolts. Then I drove the bolts in a bit to have a good starter hole. The rubber stoppers thar secure the shelves were also hard to install and I have to resort to a hammer to get them set. They are essential to the stability of the shelves. I added a zip tie for added protection. I am very satisfied with the shelves and got a lot of stuff off the four. They suggest that this a 30-minute job, but I found it was much longer mainly because of the levelling.

Pros : High quality, easy installation Cons : None that I have found yet other than a shipping issue that I comment on below. Note about vendor : They are great and readily fix any issues you may have with the item. I purchased this item a while ago (at least a year ago) and took out of the box a few weeks ago to finally install and found the box came without the right brackets inside (had the left ones). Hyloft asks you to contact them instead of amazon when there is an issue so I did. I filled out a problem report on the website and within 48 hours they had replied telling me they would send out the parts that were missing. Instead of getting the parts, they sent me a whole new unit a week later. Unfortunately it was the wrong unit, they sent me the unit that fits into the slat rail mounts instead of the self mounting set. I submitted another request explaining what had happened the first time with the original request number. This time someone responded asking the model number, so I replied with the model number. I did not get a response back after that, so I emailed them a week later asking if there was anything else they needed from me (trying to nicely push them for the parts) and later that day I found that they had already shipped me a brand new two shelf system, this time fully intact without the need to send the old one back. Their customer service gets an A+ for this one. I also have bought and installed the ceiling mounted unit it as well and that was very easy to install and of good quality. I really like their products for storage solutions.
