Strengthening exercises only help so much, but Rocktape has been a major help. I used to use KT tape but it never stayed on during any run more than a couple miles. I can make it 10+ miles in Florida swampland (hot, humid, muddy) without Rocktape coming loose, although it tends to lose its hold where it passes over the extremely angular parts of my bones. I ran 9 swamp miles last week and would've sprained my right ankle really bad if not for the strip of Rocktape I'd put on before the run. It provides just enough support to catch the ankle a little before it completely rolls. I like the long roll versus the precut strips so I can customize the size I need rather than wasting a bunch of tape by whittling down the precut strips. I work in PT and am pretty used to taping people, but I can see where placement could be slightly challenging for someone who's never taped before.
