Great unit - GREAT phone customer service when needed!
I've had this installed and their app running for about 7 months (DIY by me, a 60+ y/o female). It was easy to install and worked right away. There are helpful videos on-line you can watch also (and I ran it on my laptop while in the garage to follow along with the steps to install). It has been great UNTIL YESTERDAY - but their CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE PERSON WAS GREAT! Which is why I'm finally reviewing this.App stopped showing the control and acted like I needed to set up a new unit suddenly. I tried unplugging it, and even unplugged my router. That didn't resolve it. The app stopped recognizing that I had the Hub and sensor installed. The HELP/APP CHAT on my phone was useless and a waste of time IMHO, but gave me a phone number to call for help. After calling you need to give answers to an (AI??) agent voice. NOTE: be sure you hear a clicking after your answers when first calling, or you'll just be sitting there while waiting for it to recognize your answer! Happened to me, and it was waiting for a YES answer not explanation! Once that was done, I was connected quickly to help.Agent was patient even when my phone cut out a few times since I was in the garage. He even asked if he could call me back if we were disconnected. He walked me through the app menu to get to where I could reset the hub (turned out the hub on the garage door wasn't connecting). He waited until all steps on app were followed by me (many are skipped such as installing Chamberlain units on wall and garage door). I re-paired our (Genie) Garage door opener to the unit (HELPFUL HINT - use a long broom handle rather than have to get on a ladder to push the pairing button!!) and he waited until the garage door worked (lights blinked and unit beeps and door opened once paired) and waited to make sure I was able to see the unit in my app to control it and close the door. It's a great unit, and It's been nice to be able to open the door with the app while in my vehicle. Really, it has worked great for 7 months. I did have to change out the battery on the small hub that attaches to the inside of the garage door much sooner than I thought (about 2 months after I first got it installed). I had a notification in the app that it was low. It was easy to do and the battery was available at my grocery store. If for some reason I ever need to get another one, I'd choose Chamberlain. Worked great with my 9 y/o Genie Model 4024 garage door opener and I feel they'd help with any issues I may have in the future.

Easy setup and works great with Tesla
I picked this up mainly because I wanted my 2025 Tesla Model 3 to be able to open and close my garage door automatically, and it ended up being much easier to set up than I expected. Installation was straightforward, and the myQ app walked me through the process without any headaches.Getting it connected to my Tesla was also surprisingly simple. Once everything was linked, I was able to control the garage from the car and from my phone, which has been really convenient. No more wondering whether I left the garage open after leaving the house. The app has been reliable so far, and I like having notifications and the ability to check the door status remotely. Just make sure your opener is compatible and that you have a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network available.Overall, this was exactly what I needed. If you're a Tesla owner without built-in garage connectivity, this is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to add smart garage functionality.

Gotta get this! But know it all!
This product is so awesome! No complaints about how it’s working yet! It was super easy to install. I decided to put the main hub on the ceiling after following the instructions to pair it to sensor and garage door opener. It was super easy to setup following the instructions and works like a charm. My life has now completely changed! We feel so much safer and it’s so convenient. I started using KEY to get my Amazon packages and boy is that exciting! I’m like the king of the world!!!Although you have to use the My Q app (like we need another app), it connects to Alexa via its integration with Ring. I know that sounds great, but it is really only good for alerts for motion deduction. So if you are thinking you can be James Bond or Michael Knight cool and say Alexa “open garage door one”, you will be undoubtedly disappointed as I was.Ok, here’s a few things I don’t like so you are prepared.1) from the beginning it’s not clear that the initial kit only has one sensor (I know you can kind of deduce that from the box, but most garage doors come in at least pairs). Additional sensors cost more than main kit that comes with one.2) they don’t sell a full kit that either comes with 2 sensors or 2 sensors and the camera (my guess it’s for marketing so it looks cheaper, but you won’t be happy until you have a camera ($140) an all your garage doors on sensors ($29.98 each). I did the one door setup with no camera and was like how do I know for sure that the door is up or down. Or if I get a delivery they swipe something from garage or open the other door. So you add the camera and it just doesn’t make any sense not to have the other sensor.)! You may be able to find some Prime bundles for as low as $175.3) only use the smart camera My Q recommends. It works with the app so you don’t need a different one and it is magnetic and can stick to the opener or other surface for good positioning and great facial recognition. (Side bar - I tried the blink camera, which is great but sucks as the camera for your garage My Q system. It doesn’t integrate with My Q so it can not be controlled when you are in My Q. It works well with Alexa, but you can’t view it on Ring. So it will work for Key and it has a motion sensor when your garage door opens, but it won’t record continuously. You only get 10 seconds of motion. So you can see your garage go up and when it comes down, but you would have to actually go to live view to see what’s happening. I don’t know about you, but I want everything recorded if someone is coming in my garage to leave a package. I might not have time to pull over in traffic or interrupt a meeting to go to live stream my garage. Lol. You can try a ring camera for longer recordings, but still doesn’t integrate with My Q app but any other camera you will have the same issues and more apps. Look to spend about $200 or more if you want My Q everything in garage for convenience and peace of mind.Alexa, work on that skill so we can just say open or close garage!

good
The Chamberlain Smart Garage Control was easy to set up and works reliably. I can open and monitor my garage door from my phone anytime, which is very convenient and gives extra peace of mind. Great smart home upgrade for the price. however, the part put one the garage door is easy to loose

Easy to install, works perfectly
This arrived brand new - not a return. Contained all the correct parts. I watched the recommended video once the night before installation and again immediately before installation. Installation was a breeze, from downloading and setting up the app to pairing and installing the product. It took me less than 45 minutes to rewatch the video, gather all necessary supplies, and install and test the app. Literally the only difficulty I had was removing the plastic strips from the adhesive pads. The garage door opener on the wall still works normally. When I use the app, there is about 5 seconds of beeping and flashing lights before the door closes - somewhat alarming if you don’t expect it, but a great safety feature - scare out any stray cats and raccoons before closing the door remotely!I’ll update this if I run into any issues, but for now I’m very impressed. I have a Craftsman garage door opener with a yellow learn light - I didn’t need any extra parts for this opener.

Have bought this three times
I have the earlier version from 2020 and also just bought this version used from Amazon and both of them are working great. This newer version seems faster and easier to setup over Bluetooth than the 2020 version, but that could be because I haven't had to touch the older one in so many years.I have the garage controller mounted on a wall in one house and on the ceiling of another. The mounting location doesn't seem to matter, although I now prefer on the wall opposite the garage so I can easily observe the flashing light of the controller when backing out of the garage. Cable length wasn't an issue for me as I was able to utilize an outlet within a few feet of the controller, but I can see if that if it were double the length or included an extension, that it could allow for more mounting options. The wireless requirement is WiFi4 2.4GHz (802.11n), which may prevent connectivity on some wireless routers if you disable the 2.4 GHz network or disable 802.11n or if your router does not support 802.11n.I open the garage with the MyQ app at least once every other day and the device has only used 2.4 MB in the past 30 days. The MyQ app constantly tries to upsell features and services but does not consume much data. On my Google Pixel, it has used less than 1MB of data for the past 30 days.A word of advice, when setting up the app to open/close your garage door, I would highly recommend that you change the default action to LONG PRESS, the default is tap. With the default of tap, I've accidentally opened the garage door when reviewing the door status.Considering how easy rolling garage door codes can be cloned and repeated, I don't feel that the MyQ being a cloud managed app is any more insecure than using the garage door opener fob or wireless keypad. If anything, it's slightly better only because the action of opening the door from the MyQ app is more discrete. The MyQ app doesn't require the address to be filled in so you don't need to disclose where your MyQ is installed. Just in case you're worried about your cloud account being hacked and then some hacker targeting only you. As per basic password best practices, never re-use a password for different services. As far as basic physical security goes, your smart phone likely has some type of security enforced to unlock the device, which is already more security than carrying the remote with you. If you drop the remote near your house, then anyone can use it to access your garage door.Overall, I highly recommend this to all my family and friends. Especially those with teens with phones who need garage access or when you want to go on a walk, jog, hike, whatever and don't want to take the garage opener fob with you, you lost the original remote or you need an extra.

Works as expected but will never use Amazon Key service again
I previously had the original (black) Chamberlain hub for 7 years. Then the belt on my Sears Craftsman garage door opener finally broke after 13 years. I was going to replace the belt and another accompanying component myself for around $85 but then realized for about $100 more I could get a whole new Genie system from Lowe’s. So I got the new system and installed it myself. When it came time to connect the hub to the new Genie garage door opener it kept sending me into all kinds of inconsistent loops within the MyQ app. It would connect to my WiFi but then it would not connect to the garage door. Then it would force me to start the process all over again and again. Sometimes it would connect to my WiFi sometimes it would not. Either way it never paired with the new Genie garage door opener. I checked the compatibility list but it was unclear what model of Genie opener I had even though I had the box and instructions in front of me. I eventually found the model name by some strange means and it was still unclear if it was on the compatibility list because I could only find similar names not the exact name. So, I finally gave up and just figured it was not compatible.I purchased this newer hub and everything connected right away no problems. The device works great and I get notifications if my garage door is left open after X amount of time, this is the primary reason I wanted this device. My 5 star rating is based off of the device itself working as I want it to.I wanted to also comment about my experience with Amazon Key, I tried it with the old hub for about 6 months and I had problems with the delivery people. One time my package was right at my garage entry door, the delivery driver walked completely into and thru my garage to do this, they are supposed to place the item where they can reach without walking in. So, I felt a bit violated and confirmed this from my camera footage. This happened a few times and the experience varied with each delivery driver. The drivers with the Amazon vans consistently placed my packages within a foot or 2 of the garage door as expected. The non Amazon contracted vans were the problem. My final straw was drawn when I accidentally had one of my dogs sneak into the garage once while we were unloading groceries. After about 15 minutes I wondered where my little girl dog was. First place I checked was the garage…nope…no dog. I then started searching the house and the yard…nope…no dog. It finally dawned on me what could have happened and I went into the front yard and my dog was right there at the front door wanting in. I reviewed by camera footage and my dog had indeed been inside the garage and bolted out when the Amazon Key delivery driver opened the garage door. Both of our cars were in the garage, it was late evening and he could see that there were lights on in our home…it was very obvious we were home. He only tried once to tell the dog to go back into the garage and that was it…HE THEN CLOSED THE GARAGE DOOR WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO KNOCK OR RING OUR DOORBELL AND LEFT MY DOG OUT IN THE FRONT YARD TO POSSIBLY GET RUN OVER OR LOST FOREVER. This was a delivery driver from one of the non Amazon contracted vans. After that incident, I quickly unenrolled from Amazon Key. A couple of times following the incident AND following my unenrollment from Amazon Key, that same delivery driver walked into my garage to place items at my garage entry door if my garage door happened to be left open even though I was unenrolled from Amazon Key. I of course was furious but could not find a way to complain about my specific issue and I was not going to waste my time in calling Amazon customer service. I realize this is not the fault of Chamberlain and the blame lies with Amazon not properly training their contracted delivery drivers.

Could be great, Couple major flaws.
This could easily be a 5 star product if not for a few things. 1st and probably the biggest negative, Like others have pointed out and even chamberlain them selves will tell you. You can't buy just the door sensors. The included paper work says you can and gives you the part number. Chamberlain has them listed on their sight for 20 bucks, but no way to purchase them. If you ask they tell you to just buy the hub kit if you need a 2nd sensor. I Needed sensors for 4 doors. So instead of just buying 2 kits and 2 extra sensors. I had to buy four kits with 2 extra hubs I have no use for. That's just a waste, both money and two hubs that will probably end up in the trash.2nd negative is this isn't very easy to intergrade into a smart home. HomeyPro, Home Assistant, ect. Which seems pretty short sighted on Chamberlains's part. MyQ wants you to just use them, get all their stuff, use their app only. Their App also has a revolving Add for their other products right on the top of the main screen that you can't close or move. If someone has a newer chamberlain, liftmaster opener or this hub they are trying to force you into their echo system. Or at the very lease use only their app to control your doors. That's pretty terrible. Most smart devices easily connect and talk to other systems. On the positive side. The hub works well. It makes it easy to make most any opener "smart". Setup is easy and straight forward. Pair the door sensors to the hub, then pair the hub to the opener. Basically the same as pairing a garage door remote to your opener. Push the learn button on the opener, the hub then goes through codes until the door operates, done. It gives you anywhere access to control your doors or just check to see their status. You can see if they are open or closed and it even shows you exact time they were opened or closed previously. Conclusion, If door sensors were available for purchase separately. (Like their website and included paperwork claims they are.) And if it integrated with systems like Home assistant, Homey, google home, smart things, ect. Then this would be 5 stars all day. If you only have 1 garage door and you don't own any other brand smart devices. This is probably perfect for you, lol. Chamberlain, zero chance everyone is going to get rid of their Ring doorbell, nest thermostat, amazon echo or google home, ect. Knock it off and play well with others. You constantly push amazon key in the MyQ app, But Amazon Alexa can't control your garage door?? Genius level thinking right there...

Frustrating. I don’t recommend.
It seems that the MyQ app has stopped integrating with their own product, the Smart Garage Hub. It wasn’t even showing up in Device Management, so I couldn’t add the device to the app. I wasted so much time troubleshooting this. One weekend, it didn’t even allow me to register my new account, as their servers appeared to be down. Now that they’ve discontinued third-party integrations like HomeAssistant, I’m not sure if anyone would still be interested in buying this, like I was. Unfortunately, their system is so buggy and convoluted.

Onbruikbaar in Belgie
