The cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds then coated with multiple porcelain layers. I also find it hard to believe companies in the USA can not apply porcelain enamel to cast iron. **Q: what is the baking temperature for this dutch oven?** A: Description says it's oval, not round, and says 1.5 Qt in one line and 1.5 litres in another. What are the dimensions of the 1.5 Qt dutch oven? **Q: Is the 4 quart large enough for pot roast compared to the 6 quart. I am looking at the weight when full to be able to lift it.** A: It really depends on how many people you are cooking for. The 4 qt works for me because I don't have a large family to feed and it is lighter than the 6 quart.
