Not the item in picture (better)
A rear loading stapler is depicted in the product page picture. The one delivered is front loading with a button release in the back. This is a better set up. Machine is rugged. I used 5 staple sized at their respective min. & max. recommended page count - this is not a stapler that is designed to use one staple for all applications. I used 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" (13/16") & 15/16" (7/8"). The first three were heavy duty Bostitch staples for the 00540 stapler (SB35 staples). The 2 large sizes came with the terrible Bostitch I bought used (doesn't always work out to buy the used one, especially for mechanical products - always go for the Used-Like New versions for these types of products) and this amazonbasics product. The amazonbasics stapler came with the 7/8" staples from China with no brand name (the stapler is built in China as well, of course). They seem to work as well as the Bostitch staples. The page stop is spring loaded so can be adjusted without a knob to tighten and untighten it but this is less superior than a page stop with a snap lock or knurled knob on the side to hold this part in place. Therefore, it moves too easily and for large stacks that is inconvenient. All these large capacity staplers should take this into consideration and have a paper guide that can be locked down.

Office Type
Much better than the orange optima. This one sits stable on the table and the larger handle makes it much easier to push through big jobs. I would save the extra money and go this route. I've had 2 orange optimas and this is way better. It's just works better.

Replace the staples with a lighter gauge.
The staples that come with the stapler are much too heavy. This causes a lot of jamming. When I replaced the staples with a lighter gauge, I had no more problems.

Better than the crappy Swingline this replaced.....
This heavy-duty stapler is way better than the crappy "heavy-duty" Swingline it replaced! It uses uses Heavy Duty Swingline staples (and maybe other brands too??), NOT regular staples for the smaller desk top staplers. Good thing since I have thousands of leftover Swingline Heavy Duty staples from the BROKEN Swingline POS! Great value for the dollar too!!

Worked great on stapling a 65 sheet set of construction plans
The price was about half of some name-brands that couldn’t staple that many plans. I has 2sizes of staples. I really needed a size of staple between the 2 sizes that I had, hut had no problem stapling a 70 sheet set construction plans with the larger staples. I would recommend you give this stapler serious consideration for your thick stapling needs.

The John C. Holmes, of the Stapler world.
What can I say to any perspective buyer, well......it is big, very big, considerably larger that what I had expected a stapler to be, and especially for the price paid (great value), you get a lot of stapler for your money. This truly is the “Stud”, amongst staplers; forget anything you have seen in any high street shops, or supermarket. It measures around 14” in length and 10” in height, from base to the top of the stapler handle. It is the legendary John Curtis Holmes, of the stationery world (please see pictures). It is heavy, and seems well built. Instructions are basic, I initially had issues trying to get the staple carriage out, so that I could load the staples, it was only by chance that I pressed the orange button on the back of the handle (please see picture), for the carriage to slide out, this is not shown in the instructions. I am a casual user of the stapler, and usually staple no more than 25 sheets, on that rarest of occasions; the stapler is built for high volume paper (210 sheets), and I only staple between 2 and 14 sheets, using the larger staples supplied with the stapler, you get an “untidy finish” (please see pictures). I have had to use pliers to flatten the staples down, so beware, as they to stand up, and can cut, and be careful if you are posting, as they could damage the postal systems sorting machines (hefty repair bill). The good thing is, regular sized staples do work (please see pictures), I have tried them out, with no issues, and great finish, effortless! A quick summary; this is a great stapler, if you work in a small office, which deals with high volumes of paperwork, and do not have a dedicated lithographic/printing department, OR someone who likes, to go OTT with their stationery (as I do). I also own a large hole punch, so if size matters (it did to my ex wife), why not get it, you’ll stand out!! Pros: (i) Well made, should last a long time (hopefully). (ii) Can handle large volumes of paper (210 sheets) (iii) Interchangeable staples, so can use large or regular sized staples. Cons: (i) If stapling only a few pages, you will have to buy “regular sized staples (ii) Larger staplers are not readily available. (iii) May need a larger, strengthened desk (iv) You may find the “novelty wears off”, and you get a regular sized, hand-held stapler.

Do not overload above 150 sheets to avoid jamming
Purchased for my wife for her clinic, this stapler had the promise of robust performance. The objective? Make it easier to manage thick documents. Daily use of this stapler reveals impressive strength. An ability to staple more than 100 - 150 sheets effortlessly is unheard of! Its solid construction and ergonomic design clearly stand out. You feel the quality from the first use. Longevity seems assured, and each stapling is a success. Benefits: High stapling capacity. Ergonomics and ease of use. Robustness and durability. Disadvantages: Always use good quality staples. Do not overload above 150 sheets to avoid jamming. For professionals managing large files, it is the dream tool. Strong, reliable and powerful, this stapler from Amazon does not disappoint. A wise investment for increased efficiency in the office.

Some of the best value on Amazon
Hard to dislike anything about it. I paid $27AUD for an extremely sturdy all metal design gigantic stapler that can handle virtually any staple job (including small ones). It is absolutely effortless, so this would make for a fantastic stapler for someone with a disability or reduced strength. Cannot recommend it enough, I imagine it's a loss leader for Amazon.

SUPER !!
