It will not stand up on it's end. It looks just like it does in the photo...with just a little rounded on the bottom. It wouldn't take much to sand a flat spot to make a level bottom. To verify, I check my brush again...it is slightly rounded and not flat to stand on its base. Lovely brush. It is the best brush I have ever owned. I’d say they last 2-3 years for Me. Daily use. You’ll know it’s done when the bristles start to come out in chunks. I personally do use it till the end. I get my moneys worth. Gives flawless skin and makes everything seamless. Obviously you could use this with other creams like blush or contour. Anything really. Even tanner! Overall it’s a wonderful brush to have as a staple in your set. You’ll have it awhile and get your use out of it. The price isn’t too bad. I’ve seen worse. As a matter of fact I bought a $65 makeup forever foundation brush and when it came here it was so tiny. In the picture it looked the size of the tarte brush.
