It went on great and has held up great. Gives the wood a bit of an amber color and the satin sheen is gorgeous. We have had zero issues with food or water stains, and the clean up is simple. We went with the Water based finish due to this being in our kitchen. Odor was minimal. Very pleased. We have had this finish now for about 10 months. It goes on easier on horizonal surfaces then vertical. the result is the same just a slower process. **Q: can this be applied to previously stain wood?** A: I don’t think it will dry properly. We tried it and couldn’t get it to dry ever…had to scrape it off the wood surface **Q: Is this compatible with teak wood?** A: Teak oil would be better for teak, it is an oily wood, To be honest not sure if waterlox would work. Teak is a good outdoor wood when it’s kept oiled. Waterlox sealer may not hold up out doors.
