The Philthy blendz mod that comes with it does not come with the cam follower for the andis master cutting blade. So your top blade wiggles around making bad fades. Unless you pay 45 dollars more through Philthy blendz website for the cam follower which I don’t see the value in that. Unless, you’re a Andis Master fan, it’s actually better than the cordless master as it has better battery life, lighter, and not having the master loud buzz after some usage. But if you do, get the one for stretch bracket and cam follower. The one that comes with this one is not a stretch bracket so it’s not a full open like the master. The stretch bracket that comes with this product is ONLY for Wahl style blades. The guards are not good. The 0 guard feels like Wahl 1 guard. The 1 guard feels like a 1.5 Wahl. So for those of you who like the Wahl .5 and 1.5 guard, it will throw your fades off. So I threw them away and use Wahl type guards. Both the Wahl premium and standard guards fit. The shallow tooth that comes with it will cut ALL kids and people with sensitive skin. The shallow tooth cutter will not make your fades blurry. If you buy this, toss out the faper blade and shallow tooth cutter, use Wahl, Babyliss, JRL, or similar type blades. Because stock, I found it useful only for clipper over comb and debulk only with guards. The gold deep tooth cutting blade that comes with it make it run slower because it’s a lot thicker like the cutting blades you get with the Wahl super taper. It is meant for taper blades. So if you are planning to use the faper blade, buy the deep tooth cutter. If you are planning to use the gold cutting blade, buy the taper still blade. Conclusion, Alpha was created for experimenting. But once you know how to work out the small modifications, it is the only rotary motor you can find with 7000 rpm and 4 hour usage.
