Works perfectly with my Samsung 65" TV since it has only an ARC connection and I use this adapter to plug into my amp for my Klipsch speakers. Sound quality seems nice and its easy to set up.

Easy set up comes with everything you need. Bought a new tv but couldn't hook up to my surround sound, works great can now get the experience it deserves!

I bought it for the special smart display to attach wired headphones using HDMI (ARC) port and redirect sound there instead of integrated speakers. The problem is the adapter cannot be identified as audio device like sound bar. It only fishes the audio out from player to display connection which makes it useless for the intended purpose. It does work to extract audio if you attach it to the regular HDMI port with/without connecting receiving device. I hooked DVD player and used it as CD player with the adapter and got my music in the headphones connected to the adapter. I did not test video quality.

Works great. My tv only have hdmi hook up. No optical. This fixed that. Make sure you hook up to HDMI ARC.

Don’t buy, interfered with my brand new tv, then stopped working completely. Doesn’t let soundbar shut off because it’s always transmitting. All in 24 hours…junk

Sound and picture quality work great with this adapter. Very functional and light weight. It is easy to use and while the power source cable could be a bit longer, overall it is a great price for what you get.

I just wanted to get audio from my Blu Ray player out through my old Sony amp to my legacy speakers. I didn't understand a lot of the language in the reviews here, and Amazon cautioned that this item has a high return rate, but it's cheap so I took a chance. It works. HDMI audio out from Blu Ray in to this device, 3.5mm out to RCA jacks audio in on my amp. It works. And as some others have noted here, no power source is necessary. It appears to draw power from the Blu Ray Player. My only complaint - and it is a minor one - is that volume is lower than it is from other sources into my amp. But sound quality is good, though I'm far from being an audiophile. I recommend this product.
