Great Learning toy for 6+ months
I am a first time ambitious mom always looking for developmental toys for my son. It is harder than I thought to find toys for his current age range. I bought him this 2 months ago. My son is finally able to use it yeah! He doesn't use all the activities on it yet since he is 6 months old but he loves to push the animal buttons and turn the cubes and the handle. It keeps his interest for about 10/15 mins...to be expected in a 6 months old lol. The animal buttons light up and the musical instruments on the side make the sound of the instrument. He doesn't not yet use those. The cube is interactive asking to find the animal that makes this sound and lightens up the button of the animal to help the child. The musical instruments work with the same principal w/o the lightening feature, so it is designed for a more advanced age. It is also light enough for him to lift it and bang it against the floor. Sturdy to handle a child's abuse. So yes I do recommend for 6+ months and for a child that can sit up since it is larger.

Great toy for babies working on sitting (and beyond)!
We bought this for my daughter when she was 5 months old. She had mastered rolling over, and we wanted something that would help to develop her sitting skills. This definitely did the trick! It's the perfect size to place between her legs and she can steady herself with it while she sits. Within a couple of weeks of bringing this home, she was sitting unsupported! Not to mention the fact that she LOVES this toy. It quickly became her favorite toy, and now at 8 months she still plays with it all the time. She loves pressing the buttons and hearing the music and seeing the flashing lights. She's even gotten the questions right a few times! (By pressing the button that had its lights flashing.) She also loves spinning the letters and the other spinning pieces. She hasn't figured out how to use the instruments yet (except the drum, which is just a button), but I imagine that will come later. It plays a nice variety of songs, so it's not as repetitive as other toys, and I love that you can switch it off and throw it in a bag to bring to Grandma's house! This toy has been the biggest hit I've gotten for her so far. I could not be more pleased.

Sturdy and fun
My 8 mo old grandson loves it. Especially the spinning parts atm. Easy to bat at and the lighted buttons are easy to push. A good toy to grow with him.

Baby's Favorite
Where do I even begin...this toy is a MUST HAVE. Yes, the songs and voices are annoying and you will find yourself singing the songs in your sleep but it is worth it. My 6 month old is obsessed with this toy. It is one of the few toys I can set her on the floor with and do housework without her getting bored and angry. The top side has 4 buttons (circle, triangle, star, square) each with an animal picture in them (circle-bird, triangle-cow, square-cat, star-dog). They have animal sounds, sing songs, play musical tunes, count to 3, play games, etc. My baby hits the buttons over and over again and loves the sound and lights. There is also a spinning cylinder on the top that rattles. There is a side with spinning letter blocks (A,B,C,D) and another side with spinning shapes. There is a side with musical instruments (shakers, drum, symbol) and a side with a spinning ladybug. The bottom is just blue with letters (not an exciting side). This toy, no matter how annoying, is fun for my baby and is teaching her motor skills and cause and effect. I highly recommend itUPDATE: My baby is now 16 months old and she still really enjoys playing with this toy. It has lasted a year and is still going strong. I love that it holds her attention still and is a toy that will grow with her. It has held up really well to all of the dropping, excessive button pushing, and spinning over a year of play. I still highly recommend this activity cube.ANOTHER UPDATE: My daughter is now 2.5 years old and she still plays with this toy on occasion. She still loves the songs, naming all the animals, shapes, and colors on the cube. I honestly never imagined when I bought this that it would have kept her interest for 2 years, but it has. This really was the best toy purchase I have made to date.

VTech educational toys rocks !
I purchased this because we had one already for my great grand baby and his older sister (18 month age difference ) started having a meltdown if he was playing with it as she thought it was only for her. All it took was one time of her playing with his Activity Cube and she claimed it as hers ! It was a battle to get her to give it up, and then he would cry because he wanted it back. We had no other choice... Had to buy a second one immediately. This kept both children so engaged and happy ! When the family drove over 17 hrs to visit family these were a blessing, both children stayed so interested in the music and hands twirling and spinning ! The music wasn't so loud and the sounds are a level that was fine in a car! These are sturdy and the kids love them ! This cube is never forgotten, from playroom to car, it is always a take along toy for both of them ! VTech is a name we trust and always seems to be the perfect gift !

Grandson loves it, can get annoying for adults
We introduced this toy to my grandson at about 3 months. At that point, he mostly just looked at the pretty lights and listened to the songs and sounds. As he matured, he began rolling on his side and experimenting with touching the buttons and the spinning letters. Now at 6 months, he can sit up on his own and really enjoy all the different activities. He hasn't quite mastered the side with the various instruments on it yet. And of course, the button pressing is still rather random, but he likes the sounds and really gets going on the roller wheel. This toy has held his attention and sparked his curiosity, and I anticipate that it will continue to do so for some time. Overall, I'd say it was a very good purchase. It's sturdy, and has thus far held up to his repeated button mashing without a stutter. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the toy advertises itself EVERY time you turn it on. All the adults know the mantras by heart. "Fun on 5 sides. The cube is fun..for everyone!" We jokingly call it the "indoctricube". Other than that annoyance, it's a great toy.
