I have to be honest - we just installed this last week. We have had our sump pump fail once and flood the basement with a couple inches of water, and also have had power outages when we were out of town and the sheer panic that comes over us that the power isn't going to come back on and our basement is going to flood again is worth EVERY PENNY of the basement watchdog. We installed this ourselves in about an hour and half, taking our time and making sure it was an nice install. Of course used a check valve, tapped into our existing sump pump line, and bought our own group size 27 marine deep cycle battery from the local menards (Hey, it was FREE after all the rebates I had stored up). I like that the BWE has a float switch with DUAL float switches in case one fails, the other one will activate the pump. If you've had a sump pump for any amount of time in your life, you know how important that is! This is the basic unit after all, I don't think you can attach wi-fi to it but heres my thought on that - if the powers out, the wi-fi modem/router in my house doesn't work anyway so I didn't feel like I was missing much there. The price was nice, it was pretty straightforward, and when we press the "TEST" button, it really empties the sump put pretty quickly, I am impressed. Now if the power goes out, we can scratch stressing over the basement flooding off of our list! Get this, you won't be disappointed.

It is working good so far. I haven’t done any maintenance after buying. Very quiet and notifying quickly if it uses batteries for pumping. Pump power is enough for my basement.

I haven’t had to use it yet (been installed for a year now) but gave her an initial test run after set up (which wasn’t hard to do if you’re a bit handy) and did great for my needs. Do your homework before getting the battery but mine is still fully charged. Overall a bit expensive but for me peace of mind knowing if the power goes out I’m covered.

Please do not buy this product and please do not purchase the Asurion Protection Plan. My system went out maybe because all the rain not sure. I reached out to Amazon and was told to reach out to Asurion the plan was a 4-year Protection Plan. Claim was filed and I was told someone will be in touch with me. I have been an Amazon for over 20 years and have purchased many Asurion products thankfully never had to use them. Based on my experience with this first claim I will never purchase this production again. It's been three weeks and still no resolution.

This is the 2nd one I have purchased in the 26 years that I have lived at my house. Just add a marine battery and follow the directions.

Easy to setup, has saved our basement several times in the last few months. Audible alarm is a great option to serve as both a warning and knowledge that power was interrupted. Strong pump!

UPDATE *after installation i realised i didnt drill the little hole in the pipe so the pump was airlocked. After i drilled it the pump worked as intended!! The kit seems great so far. I dont have the battery yet and WILL update this when its all hooked up and tested but heres a few pointers! You will have to be a bit crafty to install this and will also have to buy a couple extra things. I HAD TO go buy: abs pipe 1 1/2”, 90° and 45° Elbows and a coupler (to link my new backup pump to my main pump output) Some abs glue a pipe cutter A L shape braket (rona had it!) 2 clamps A bolt,washer and a nut (setup specific noted in the instructions) AND A agm marine battery (300$ and up). So keep in mind that this kit isnt the end of your expenses but is necessary for peace of mind. If you need help to set it up feel free to send a message if possible.

This seems to be a quality product. The instructions were clear and the setup was straightforward. The pump does a good job at pumping, as good as the normal 120v pump. I bought a separate marine battery from Canadian Tire here in Canada, which of course was set to go, with fluids and charging. The battery level sensor then does not work, but it is no effort to occasionally check the water level. The 'Watchdog' control panel mounts nicely on the discharge pipe, and as well as the indicator lights there is a pump test button. Overall I am impressed!

I installed it this past weekend as the water finally slowed down coming into the basement. I got the pump on sale and I feel it is worth the price. It was very easy to install.. The instructions were straight forward and answered most of my questions. Any ones that I have I emailed the company and they were very helpful in providing the answers. I used all ABS to connect it so I had to replace the end they sent as it was PVC. But I since learned you can get PVC to ABS cement Also the water level sensor if you connect it to the positive battery post then the water alarm will not go off. This will allow the normal power/water level alarm to work fine. The water level in your battery will not be monitored by the system. It fit well in my pit as I had to make the plumbing as compact as possible as the outlet line is in my pit so there is not tons of room to fit it all. It seems to be very good system and gives me some piece of mind in my basement when we install carpet.

Great operation! Nice to have a backup.

Haven't had an emergency yet but it's always ready to go. Easy to test monthly and moves the water very well.
