(The bulb emits UVA, UVB, and visible light.) Zoo Med’s “Application Chart” (distance guide) for their 26 watt UV bulb: During Burn-In: Leave 14” to 22” from bulb to cage top (35 to 55 cm). After Burn-In (after about 100 hours of bulb use): Leave 12” to 18” from bulb to cage top (30 to 45 cm). Calculated from this guide: During UV bulb “burn-in” (the first 100 hours of bulb use, when the bulb is super-strong), the tallest cage to safely use with this 72” lamp is 58 INCHES (147 cm) from the same floor the lamp is on. After the burn-in period, the tallest cage for safe use is 60 INCHES (152 cm) from the floor. These values are for the *maximum* safe cage height. Other than there was no instructions pertaining to the cord. It was too long at first and so I couldn't screw the peices into eachother. I finally figured out that I could gently pull the cord from the bottom area to reduce the slack that was impeding my assembly. It was a bit of a struggle by myself because of this. And I hope the bit of chafing of the cord is a non issue in the future. OTHER than that, this product is sturdy, it's easy to adjust and move around.
