This stuff makes the best burgers in the world. Mix some in with the ground beef and then grill or cook the burgers. You won't believe it.

Almost flavorless. Chalky and grainy. Absolutely gross and oily.

Not to be used the way Americans typically use BBQ sauce, if you know what to pair this stuff with, you can't go without it in some dishes. This to me the quintessential hot pot sauce. I can't do hot pot without this sauce. It would be like a cheeseburger without cheese. Highly recommended for if you know what it actually goes with, but to use it as a condiment in place of a typical sweet, smokey BBQ sauce, no way. I'm guessing that's what the one star rating was all about. You don't use the oil part at all, you scoop for the bottom, good stuff.

Excellent. Bizarre at first, do not eat it like that. To marinate at least 12 hours to thoroughly soak the meat of the taste of the marinade.

It's a great sauce adding to hot pots, stir fries and for marinating meat in. Unfortunately, this particular jar didn't survive shipping. It was well packaged in bubble wrap and in a cardboard box, but the seal on the jar was obviously broken. The usual "fishy" smell (which is normal) was now something that my gut said "avoid at all costs". It was also "clumpy" and not just "gritty". I was looking for a fix during COVID, but I'm going to wait until I can get out to the Asian market and buy it off the shelf. :( You might have better luck buying it in the can.
