Are these compatible with the systainer foam inserts?

I can’t answer about the inserts but I can tell you these are junk. As a long-time Makita guy, these have been Nothing but disappointment for me. They’re made really cheap. The plastic is thin & brittle, the patches are hard to operate. There’s almost no Makita tool I don’t recommend but these cases, junk

This is a fairly rugged case for the money, but I wouldn’t use it as a step stool. The cases interlock nicely, but Makita is behind on offering a true storage system. They don’t offer rolling carts and the foam inserts you can buy as an accessory are soft and won’t last. I had some custom foam inserts made that work much better. Festool has the best storage cases and storage accessories; however, they are three times the price of these Makita cases. It comes down to your pocket book and how much you are willing to invest ina storage system
