Plews & Edelmann 8936 Power Steering Pump Seal Kit, 1 Pack

Worked perfect, my pump is now running without leaks. I had to replace the bearing too. The high pressure hose connection gasket is too big. I used the one I had which was still in good shape.

This was installed by a professional mechanic, the first 2 weeks it was leak free, but then it started to developed a leak once again, I contacted the seller and he doesn’t reply, I don’t recommend this gasket seal set.

Everything is a prefect OEM match except for 2 o-rings for inlet/outlet to the pump itself. They are simply not thick enough and you will get air introduced in to the system. I have used green automotive A/C o-rings. Snug fit but it is what you need here ;-)

The 3 main o-rings that seal the back plate to the main body of the pump are smaller and thinner than the OEM originals. You would think a leading manufacturer of power steering equipment would provide a more exact fit. Needless to say after using the replacement parts and driving about 50 miles the pump started to leak again. Do yourself a favor and buy Honda OEM parts and only have to do the repair job once. Buyer beware.

Rebuilt a 160,000 06 rsx type s power steering pump, ran for 30 minutes at idle - no leaks, no sounds, 100% new honda ps fluid. Fixed the leaks/squealing that started happening recently.

Installed by professional mechanic last February, worked fine till first week of May. Only three months later it was leaking power steering fluid. Ended up being a blue o-ring clearly damaged. I could peel its surface with my fingernail. Don't know if the rest will hold up. Makes you wonder about quality....

El juego de sellos que llegaron dentro de una bolsa de plastico y un instructivo tambien adentro de la bolsa, llego con 2 sellos menos que los que indicaba la imagen de la presentacion del producto. Al abrir la bolsa y sacar todos los sellos, los conte y me di cuenta que estaban incompletos; la bolsa deberia traer 11 sellos pero traia 9 sellos, por lo cual faltaron 2 sellos, escenciales para evitar fugas de liquido hidraulico en la bomba.

I must say, I was quite disappointed, considering the cost of a set of pieces of rubber (40+ canadian dollars), that the seals did not seal properly. Mostly on the upper line connection to the pump (high pressure) o-ring. I actually used the one from this kit to replace the old one (i did make sure it was the right one, even though this kit comes without any instructions as to which goes where), but it didn't seal properly. I had to replace it with the old one and voila! No more air bubbles or noises in my power steering system. So, NO, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
