Product Description Make traditional, wafer thin embossed Scandinavian cone cookies that are traditionally rolled into a cone while still warm and served plain, rolled in sugar or filled with whipped cream. Italian pizzelles are a traditional Italian sugar cookie served flat and plain, dipped in chocolate or sugared or can be rolled into a cone for filling with fruit or ice cream. Three pieces are included in this heirloom set: two-side detailed Krumkake press, cooking base and wooden cone for rolling. Can be used on gas, electric and ceramic stoves. Recipes and wooden rolling cone included. The cooking surface is 4.9 inches in diameter, see the dimensional image for details all product measurements. Review: This works so well! What an excellent treat! - Bought this as a Xmas present for a teenager. It’s so easy to use! We followed the directions on the box and also followed a bit of online advice which suggested pre-heating the device on medium until droplets of water sizzled off of it, and also using a quick pass of butter for the first few krumkaker to ensure they didn’t stick. We also learned that with our heat level and elevation, they turned out best with cooking for 15 seconds on each side. So feel free to experiment and don’t be disheartened if you need to make some adjustments. Once you have it down, krumkaker are so versatile! We started experimenting with dipping the edges in different spices, and we also puréed frozen blueberries harvested last summer into the whipped cream. I would buy this setup for anyone who is interested in Scandinavian treats! (Side note: Kiddo had not used a gas stove before, so she accidentally had the burners up way too high and burned the handles a bit, but that was user error on our part. And even still, the handles have held up!)

**Q: can I use this on a glass cooktop?**
A: Yes, I have a ceran glass cooktop.

**Q: How should I clean the base that has hot butter cooked onto it? I don't want to scratch the metal.**
A: I would use some Dawn and warm water as this particular soap removes oily things very well.  And I would use a bristle brush that has plastic bristles as it should not scratch the surface.  Good luck.  Also cleaning it just after it cools and you have used it is the easiest.  Glade Jul!

**Q: 2 different pics for this. The 1st pic shows the base (that sits over the flame) has 2 engraved handles. The other base is different. Which one is it?**
A: The base on mine does not have handles.  Either way I love this product.

**Q: Can I use this on an electric stove with raised coils?**
A: This is pretty much identical to the one my mom had when I was young, & we had an electric stove with raised coils, so this one should be fine.

This Nordic Ware Krumkake Iron looks vintage and authentic. It is a good tool for making very nice thin krumkakes. I tried it with the recipe it came with and the krumkakes turned out nice and thin. I used the wooden instrument it also came with to shape them into little cones and filled them with vanilla bean whipped cream. Very nice and easy dessert to make.
