Pink Silicone Seat Cover

I couldn't find any info on the thickness of this silicone cover, so I bought it and measured it. It's 1/4" thick all around. Obviously this isn't going to provide a large amount of cushion/give, but the compressibility of the silicone does take some of the pressure off your sit bones compared to the rock hard Concept2 seat. I think this is a great option for people looking to row mostly "natural" but get some sit bone relief on longer rows. I'd rate the cover as more comfortable and effective than a folded over hand towel, which I survived a marathon row on. I've cycled for years before getting the rower, so I'm used to sitting for long periods during workouts but I think the hip hinge movement in the rowing stroke was causing my sit bones to grind into the seat. For reference I am 6 feet tall and 175 pounds and this cover was just what I needed. As already mentioned in the other reviews, the product photo for the yellow color is incorrect. However I really like the yellow as received, it matches the color of the Concept2 logo and accents very well. The color match and fit is so good you'd think this came on the rower. I was a bit apprehensive about the cost of this item, however this is the only product like it on the market; the silicone is the closest you will get to a "gel seat" on the Concept2. It should hold up well over time unlike those memory foam cushions which always flatten out. After receiving and rowing with this Vapor Fitness cover I definitely find that it was a worthwhile purchase.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It’s a simple cover that fits perfectly over the seat of my concept2. It provides just enough padding and comfort that I was looking for. I purchased a different one with memory foam and it was too thick and made the seat feel unstable. This a solid product, if you’re looking for some padding but not too much.

Adds a bit of comfort and a non-slip surface to make rowing more enjoyable. Slipped on easily and fit perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

I was torn on buying the Concept 2 because the seat is terrible, for me it makes the rower unusable. I decided I could make some sort of pad work, and went with this one. Its actually awesome. Its about 1/4 inch of solid dense silicone and fits perfectly over the seat. It has enough room to fit some extra padding under it. I had an old yoga mat 5mm thick and was able to fit two layers under the seat with plenty of room to fit securely over the rower hard plastic seat. In total I added almost 1/2 inch of extra padding. I cut the yoga mat into 12 x 9.5 inch sections and they fit perfectly. For the price, I wish the manufacturer would provide an extra pad like like the pads I added. But its a great addition and for me makes all the difference between a rower that will collect dust and one that will take me 6000 meters 4 or 5 times a week. It looks great on the rower. Definitely recommend it. I give it 4 stars because for the price, they could throw in an extra optional pad. And one other note, its yellow not the green color as it looks on the vendor website.

It is a tad softer than the original seat that came with the concept 2. I love it because it helps me row better and stay in the right seating position. If your looking for a real soft seat cover this isn’t it. It is silicone. I suppose one could add a cushion of some type and I have tried that but the cushion slides a bit. Buy this because you want your butt to stay where you put it and it does offer a better rowing seat on the Concept two factory seat which really it too hard. Hope this review helps someone

This cover really stuck out to me for it’s sharp color. Overall the cover is not a comfort pad, I had purchased a hornet pad previously. The hornet pad was comfortable but it would soak up sweat and become gross. This vapor fitness cover is perfect, it fits OVER the hornet pad and repels any sweat and it’s easy to clean. My only complaint is that the cover doesn’t fit tightly enough for when the erg is stored vertically and falls off. I wish the cover had either a strap or a clip to lock it onto the seat when stored vertically. Other than that it’s so freaking sweet on the color the retention on the seat when stored vertically is more of just an annoyance. But the hornet pad for comfort then this to protect the pad and to add a pop of color.

Gives my rower a nice pop of color, it fit well, but not much cushioning, but I knew that going in it is as described.

I bought this item because I need slightly more padding than the original Concept 2 seat provides I would not recommend it for that purpose. At the same time I bought this product, I also ordered a seat pad directly from Concept 2, which cost $12 + tax + shipping. I have tried the following configurations: (1) this seat cover alone; (2) this seat cover over the Concept 2 pad; (3) the Concept 2 pad alone; and (4) the Concept 2 pad on top of this seat cover. This seat cover by itself was only a marginal improvement over the original seat. Placing the Concept 2 pad under the seat cover gave about the same result. For moderate additional padding, the Concept 2 pad is much more effective and a much better value. I settled on using the Concept 2 pad on top of the VF seat cover, which gave the best result for me. Your results may depend on how often and how long you row. I typically row in a range from 5,000 meters at the low end to half-marathon (21,097 meters) at the high end (roughly 20 minutes to 90 minutes). I have been rowing for more than 10 years and am over 60 (which is really what drove my need for a bit more padding ... I don't carry the same muscle mass that I did when I was younger). Neither the seat cover nor the pad nor the combination affects rowing dynamics. Bottom line: if you just need a little more padding, buy the Concept 2 pad direct from the manufacturer. This seat cover fits well and looks good, but it just did not give me the padding I needed.

Thought long and hard before giving a five star value for money rating then decided if I can row for longer and be free from discomfort then it's worth every penny. Still the dearest 'sporty' thing I've ever bought apart from the rowing machine - but worth it if i don't have to skip a day because I've got a sore bum. What do I like about it? Well it is a vivid lime green that I happen to like, it fits the seat beautifully, it doesn't slip and it makes a difference. There's not much more to say about the seat really especially as when I'm rowing I don't really notice that it's there. I used it for a couple of 5k rows then had a few weeks break 'coz the other half wants to redecorate. Just started again today with a gentle 20 minutes row. No discomfort at all. I plan to try a longer row in a week or so and if I remember I'll update this review. The only niggle I have is that it did not come with instructions. You don't need any instructions to fit it - that's pretty obvious, but it's going to need cleaning at some point. Can I put it in the washing machine? Are there any household cleaning fluids I should use/avoid?

Ottimo prodotto, calza alla perfezione alla seduta dei rower Concept2. Forse irrigidisce un minimo la seduta ma niente di trascendentale. Lo uso quotidianamente. Impeccabile.
