Don't buy an expensive delicate electric pump . This is all you need .
This the best water pump/pool cleaner I have ever used . I purchased it to remove the last bit of water from 20 foot pool . Let me tell you , it looks and feels cheap but this guy drained 2 foot of water out of the bottom my pool in 45 mins and sucked up almost all the dirt that I created as a scrubbed it down . Like a little water powered vacuum . Well worth the money if you have any kind of water removal to do . It really does work down to about an inch . Just make sure it doesn't suck it self down . Also it sounds like a demonic attack when pulled out of the water at all . Great item .

This thing is a freekin' MIRACLE!
Updated review: This little "pump that could "saves the day again. We moved since the last time, but woke up to 2" of water in my newly concreted shed. Submersible pump broke, but I remembered I had this little guy packed away in the basement. Connected a hose and the shed was pumped out in half an hour! This pump works in a very specific use case, but one I happen to have. Needs no "power" other than a garden hose. Screw the hose in, extend the output as far as you need. (I needed a bit more, but my wet/dry vac hose fit good enough.) Turn on the water (the most counter-intuitive thing I could imagine.) The outgoing water carries the water you need to pump with it. Amazing. Sorry I didn't get a video, my hands were full. Hurricane Lee is on its way so I imagine I'll need it again. *********** It works! It actually works! I wish I found this thing years ago. It would have saved me tons of trouble. I needed something in case the power went out to assist my sump pump in the basement. We have gravity-fed water right near the sump and two windows so I can direct the water outside. We tested it out this weekend and it works! I don't need a generator. I don't need to suck on a hose to get create enough of a vacuum to pull the water out. You just hook it up and turn on the water. It just works! I also plan to use it to drain my little swimming pool. No need to get the electric pump out for that when I want to change the water. MIRACLE! Two things of note: It says in the instructions that you can use a length of 1" PVC pipe and stick that in the water. I haven't tried that yet, but that would mean I don't even have to take the sump cover off to drain the water out. MIRACLE!!! Get the one with the drain hose attached. For the life of me, I don't know why they didn't design it to attach to a garden hose on both ends, but that's the way it is.

Overall pleased with this drain
Before recently purchasing this product, I dreaded having to drain my hot tub and probably did not do it often enough. I had to squeeze down between my hot tub and deck and try to pull out the drain by touch, then try to hook up a garden hose and run the water all the way out to the back of my yard away from my house, and THEN wait for what seemed like hours for all of the water to drain out, and THEN still had to siphon and sponge out the remaining water which was below the drain hole. This product took me a while to figure out on my first try and get everything set up perfectly, but once I did it drained super quickly and even got most of the water out of the bottom of the hot tub and a lot of the little specs of dirt and debris as well. Hey, is this product perfect? No, at least not from my experience. But it was 100x better than my old method. The problems I ran into were: First, the suction was so powerful that the drain hose would contract on itself causing the part that is supposed to rest on the bottom of the tub to keep rising up. I had to lay my hot tub cover partially over the hose to hold it in place and that did a pretty good job once I figured it out; second, the drainage hose was not long enough for my needs and I needed to add on a lot of extra hose to get it away from the house. I wish they would just give you the option to order extra hose length along with the contraption, and at a decent price because it's pretty expensive to buy from the hardware store or even online. Those are really my only two complaints, so overall I'm very happy with the drain, and even more so because it was so affordable. Thinking about draining the hot tub in the future doesn't give me such a headache, and it will no longer be an all day event.

This is an amazing little "pump"
We needed to pump a few feet of water off our inground pool cover. This was the first year we used this type of cover. After trying two pumps, having issues with both, my husband was ready to give up. Then I saw this little device and after reading the reviews thought it wouldn't hurt to try, the cost was minimal. I was truly amazed at the amount of water this gadget siphoned out. You do have to use water so there is the added cost of water, but without electricity it is cheaper. I had a bit of trouble connecting the hose to the end. There is a rubber gasket in the hose end, I considered taking that out, but left it in. I was only able to turn the hose about twice there are few threads. It could not take much water pressure from the hose without popping off. I did not think just a little water would work, but tried it anyway. I had the water turned less than a quarter (about 9 O'Clock position) and it started shooting water out the end of the drain hose. I believe the product writeup said the output was 8 to 1, I believe it is more. I did get the extension hose kit so I could have it reach the tree line of our property. Great buy, will be using this in the fall to keep water off of that cover! G.T. Water Products, Inc. WP25 Pumps-A-Lot Water Pump and 2-Inch by 1-1/4-Inch Discharge Hose

buy it
I bought this unit as a backup for my sump pump. Initially, I had some problems with a leaking garden hose and the unit would get clogged with debris & sediment (used my water heater as a supply port). The device pumps a lot of water. I tested it and it pumped water up 4-5 feet through 50 feet of piping! I will buy a 1" PVC pipe to extend the pumps suction into my sump pit (as stated in the manual). Also, no DVD is included, but the packaging has changed. Pros: NO moving parts>high project reliability Very cheap (a reliable pump will cost well over $100) Relatively efficient Quality material (I own other products from this company, which I have been happy with) CON; Tubing looks like garbage, but I did not use it nor intend to.

Buyer beware product does not work-leaks and really was a piece of garbage
DO not purchase this item. the product filled up my bucket and did NOT pump or move any water. I tried several different ways to get the pump to work. it was leaking from both the discharge and garden hose. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This item should be removed from Amazon!

Simple and effective
I have a corner on my patio pool deck where water accumulates during heavy rain. When we get heavy rain, I use the Pumps a Lot to quickly remove the water. I recommend getting a hose clamp and flexible discharge hose to move the water greater distances. Hurricane Ian paid a visit this week and we had at least 19" of rainfall in 48 hours. I could easily pump away the standing water in a matter of a minute or two even when the puddle was two or three inches deep.

Works like a charm. Really like magic.
This is really an amazing magical thing. It works great. We use it to drain our duck pond (about 8'x8'), which it does in under 10 minutes. The threads are a little difficult, so I would love an improvement there (sometimes hard to get the hose to connect to it). But overall, a really magical thing that requires no batteries. Love it.

Way better than a pump
Wow ! My 2100 liters spa takes half the time to empty ! Even faster than my 300 electric pump ! Also, if i forget it, no burnt motors ! Soooooo easy to use, so compact to store, I don't really understand the venturi principle, but I'm so happy with the product !!!!!

Works well
Pump works well, but a short 1" diameter pvc pipe should have been included

Looks like something you get from Dollar Store
I really works. Yet the connecting section was crushed in (not broken) on arrival. I did not bother to exchange it. The material used is low quality. Looks like something you get from Dollar Store. You pay for the design, not quality for this price.
