Trying to get the app to work, downloaded and its asking me to log in, requested a code, and nothing... thoughts??? the app is gvm ii

I skipped that part and just used the guest feature. It does the same thing. You can probably do more if you sign in but I don't need that aspect of the lights.

Are there any softboxes available for these?

Yes, Newwer makes two that fit this. There is another brand that is slightly cheaper with more surface area. Search Newwer softbox and you will find the exact ones for the 660. There are other options but pay attention to dimensions.

Do I have to use the app? Can I control it without it?

Full local control is provided by physical buttons and knobs on back of each unit. You only need app for remote control. The rapp uses Bluetooth and can be used for full control without a sign-in. by using apps guest mode. However, currently the app requires a sign in for app to remember the lights and settings between uses.

Can I use this for green screen work to light my green screen Like will it emit a white light?

It will emit white light, you can close the barn doors if it is still too bright while dimmed all the way down. These lights are very precise and can do just about anything you need.
