AcuRite Pro Humidity Meter & Thermometer with Touch Activated Backlight

I recently purchased the AcuRite Pro Humidity Meter & Thermometer with Touch Activated Backlight, and it has been a very satisfying addition to our RV. The device is user-friendly, with a straightforward interface that makes it easy to read and understand the current temperature and humidity levels. One of the standout features for me is the different mounting options. In terms of accuracy, this device is spot on. I've compared its readings with other measuring devices I own, and it consistently delivers accurate results. A great dependable meter. Updates quickly like every 10 seconds. Batteries last a long time, as I recall I only changed once after about 3 years of continuous use. I find the backlight very handy (tap the top to light). Temperature was accurate vs other gauges in the home. Didn't have another hygrometer to compare against. But taking the math approach you can take the local weather readings and calculate what the indoor relative humidity should probably be, and it was right on accurate. Great value for the money! Recently bought another one for a friend.

Works fine for my needs in a bedroom and seems to be accurate. The backlight is nice for checking at night but the screen is almost too bright in a completely dark room.

I now have three of these and they work very well. Their reading are very consistent with each other and they appear to be accurate; at least within their stated tolerances and they can be calibrated to offset discrepancy. The display is very readable and I also like the backlight feature. The only complaint I have is the precision of the temperature reading only shows whole degrees. It would be nice if it indicated tenths of degrees since the accuracy is supposedly +/- 0.5.

I bought this device to tell me what the humidity is in my bedroom. I bought two other brands and a humidifier with a humidity monitor. None of the read the same. 9 degree swing in some cases. This was the only device that allowed for calibration. Because of this fact I am using this device as my control. One more thing in my case adding the 3 units readings together and then dividing 3 gives a useable results.

These are nice temp gauges for the money. The light internal light is very handy and they last a long time on a set of batteries. Also, the temp and humidity settings can be adjusted.

The readings are quite a bit different than another brand I have (Thermpro TP50) -- humidity reads about 4% higher and temperature a degree different after they've been sitting side by side for an hour -- so I've no idea which unit is more accurate (and I'm not about to go through the tedious salt calibration method). For now I'll just split the difference and resign myself to not really knowing what the humidity or temperature truly are in my apartment. A couple of minor design/UI things to be aware of. Firstly, this unit has no table-top stand -- it'll balance-stand up on its own but easily falls over without a support of some kind (the Thermpro has a nice little flip-out stand). Magnets are great but useless if you've nothing metal to attach it to, which is usually the case on a desk or shelf. Secondly, the backlight is great but it stays on too briefly to process the information on the screen so I often end up touching it a second time. I'm sure this is to minimize battery drain, but it would be nice to have it stay on for a bit longer. And finally, humidity and temperature readings are rounded to the nearest whole unit -- there are no decimal points. Given the +/- 2% RH accuracy this is not really a problem for the humidity reading, but the temperature is supposed to be accurate to a half degree F, so it's odd that there is no decimal point in that readout -- especially for the Celsius reading since one degree Celsius is equivalent to several degrees Fahrenheit. I can only assume it's rounded to the nearest whole unit, but it could be only rounded up or only down. Who knows?!

Works as it should and the backlight feature is useful in dim places. Only wished that it can be connected via wifi/IOT so that I can monitor the readings remotely
