First thing, make sure you’re placing it in the correct port. The cable is a very specific port than a regular USB or other A/V cable. Secondly, and this is what happened with me, the manufacturer put clear plastic coverings on the tips of the cable to protect them during shipping. They’re on there pretty tight and they look like part of the cable, and they’re really small. Once you remove those plastic tips, you shouldn’t have any problems. Finally, the optical port is also a very tight fit and the cable is a very specific shape and has to be aligned perfectly with the port opening shape. I was convinced there was something wrong with it until I noticed those little plastic tips on the cable. The cable works really well and is great quality. I’m glad I bought it. I hope this helps. Is it good to install in-wall/crawl space?

I would. The cable insulation is very high quality. I think it would be just fine. Obviously it would have to be dry. I wouldn’t use it outdoors or anywhere it would be exposed to the weather. I’d use it anywhere inside.

Will this work with Bose cinemate system

As long as you have an optical port, I think in my opinion it should work. The cable is universal, unless the Bose system is picking.
