Now my Java fern is turning yellow and leaves are dieing.** A: Java ferns are leaf feeders. They love phosphates. **Q: can it be use on hang on back filter? with high flow rate?** A: I don't see why not, it may reduce the flow some, but if you are having a problem it truly helps. We do a water change once a month and change it every other month. Our tank looks better and the fish have been healthier.
