The connectors were poor causing sound cut out
I bought the cable as I needed a long reach and wanted the cable quickly - it arrived the next day but I noticed the cable itself is a lot thinner than the other optical cables I have - although have no idea if this contributes to the issues I have experienced. Having replaced my existing short optical cable with this new one I got no sound through to the sound system. At first I thought it was a problem with my settings but after checking they were all fine & when I plugged my old cable in the sound was fine again. I reverted back to the new cable & again got no sound so I played with the connection point at the TV end - & then intermittent sound started to come through - but then it stopped again when I changed the angle of the TV. This time when I played with the connection at the TV end it made no difference - still no sound. So I played with the connection at the sound system end - and sound started to come through but with bad interference - my conclusion is that there seems to be a problem with the design of the connectors of this cable. I am having to order a different make. My suggestion is to buy with caution .....
