Patterns mentioned but no longer available online
I purchased this book through my hubbies Amazon account and noticed no patterns were provided with the book. When looking at individual projects they mention patterns can be downloaded from a website. Iโve gone to that website and requested the patterns twice two weeks ago and received nothing. This makes the book pretty useless.

wonderful gift for budding sewists and fashionistas ๐
got this mostly for my grand daughter. she just turned 9 years old, and shows an interest in fashion and sewing. started teaching her the basics of sewing summer 2025, she is a natural! her brother also wanted to join our sewing session as well! I also got her a sewing kit from Amazon for Christmas. she was SO excited! I found this book to be so well written with great diagrams.... and projects.

GREAT starter book for kids/beginners
Hadn't realised all the initial reviews were essentially publisher reviews! However, the book has arrived and I can honestly say this is A GREAT book! For kids/beginners. Bought for my 9yr old daughter for Xmas, this book is full of basic instruction and really good ideas for projects, all of which are achievable with only a little assistance from me! Her and her sister have already made a couple if fruit shaped pin cushions and have now ordered material for a beanbag for the cat to sleep on! Would highly recommend.

Book 5 stars, but Access to Patterns Confusing
The book is amazing (more on that later). The process to get the patterns is less than ideal. Because many reviews state that they can't access the patterns, I'll share what I found. To get the patterns, there is QR code. You scan it, and it takes you to a request form where you put in your email and choose your product from a list. Here's the key, in order to receive the patterns, you have to check the box saying you want to receive emails. We tried multiple times with multiple email addresses before realizing that box was for the downloads and not to sign up for newsletters. After that, the patterns arrived in our spam folder in about 5 minutes. The book itself is amazing. It has hand-sewing and machine projects. The projects build on each other and give kids multiple opportunities to practice a skill. Our kids (girl and boy) and are excited to get started on the projects. I have the very basics of sewing and have not felt confident about teaching them how to sew, but this book makes it very doable.

Great for teaching children
I loved how easy it was to show my grandchildren how to start sewing. This was their first attempt at trying to learn about sewing. I actually used it for my 5 year old granddaughter and my 8 year old grandson. The 5 year old had a little trouble keeping her attention, but I was so pleased that she actually learned how to thread a needle, make a knot, sew on a button, and learned a little bit of running stitch and whip stitch. My 8 year old grandson was able to stay on task a lot better. He was thrilled with making his own stuffie by drawing and coloring muslin and then putting that with felt to back it, and stuffing it.
