Grandpas Pine Tar Soap 4.25 Ounce Bar

I get eczema. It's worse in the winter, and worse if I shower twice a day. My dermatologist recommended Vanicream soap. That works well in that it doesn't cause eczema no matter how much I shower. But, it doesn't feel like it cleans very well and it leaves behind a slippery residue. I tried many different soaps and this Grandpa's Pine Tar is the best. It actually gets your skin very clean---even after a day digging out tree stumps or an intense Jiu Jitsu class. But it doesn't cause eczema and doesn't leave a greasy residue. I actually think it makes eczema go away, but I can't prove that. Personally, I love the smell. It smells like a campfire to me. My wife doesn't mind it, but she thinks it smells a bit like asphalt. But it can't be that bad, because she uses it when she gets eczema! I usually use it below the neck, but it's fine to wash your face with. It won't dry out your face or give you acne. And, it is actually great on beards. I've washed my hair with it, but it seems to build up some residue over time, so I don't recommend using it as a daily shampoo. Stick to below the forehead. Overall a great soap. Gets you nice and clean; no grease; no rashes or dry skin.

Another positive review from a PUPPPS survivor. And yes, I do mean survivor. Like many women who reach for this very masculine-smelling soap, it was because I developed the PUPPPS pregnancy rash. It's an absolutely horrendous rash and my skin would feel like it was boiling in the middle of the night. Grandpas Pine Tar Soap came up online as a possible aid, so after some wavering I bought it. I wavered because it's not uncommon for my body to freak out on skincare choices. Even ones that seem hypoallergenic. But I took the leap and thankfully it didn't bother my skin. I would highly recommend this brand because some others used essential oils for the smell, which I think could be more bothersome and add to irritation. I used this soap a few days before I could see the doctor. I won't deny that the prescription lotion they put me on helped a lot, but the pine tar soap wasn't a slouch. Plus it wasn't a hassle to deal with like oatmeal baths. The soap smells like a campfire and it's strong, but I personally didn't mind it. Anything to get rid of the itch, and my husband didn't say he thought I smelled strongly of it. I don't have any photos to post, but the ones that other reviewers listed helped me make the choice! I'd also suggest buying some ComfyTemp ice packs to use in the middle of the night when the itching and boiling get worse. I've purchased a few ComfyTemp items and having the flat packs that I could lay on my legs or stomach was amazing, as they keep things cool for a long time.

When I say this soap smells so good.... Imagine a saddle or pair of leather boots. This bar of soap takes you places with is amazing all natural fragrance. It's smoky and sexy. On top of that it's super clean and doesn't leave your skin feeling dry or stripped. And the price is truly insaneeeeee. Last but not least this soap lasts forever!!! I truly can't hype it up enough.

Trying this for the first time in my entire life, I got out of the shower and immediately ordered two more bars (like within 5minutes after). Entire body and entire long beard is unexpectedly, and unbelievably comfortable. Just so soft, and clean. I was surprised about the scent being strong when I opened the package from the mail,.. but once I understood what this soap is, and then especially feeling how clean and soft this soap is, I then came to understand how charming and vintage the scent actually deserves to be appreciated. 100/10!

This soap is amazing, The scent can be VERY strong when you first receive the box. however, whether this is a pro or con the scent isnt as strong after getting out the shower. It leaves a slight tinge of the pine tar scent on your skin. It does leave the shower smelling AMAZING while using so its also therapeutic. It does a great job at giving you a very good clean feeling on your body face and even your hair and it lathers really well with some water. I have really long hair and i could compare this to some shampoos in terms of leaving my hair clean. the only concern i see with this soap is that it tends to run out pretty fast and like mentioned before it doesnt really leave a long lasting scent. but honestly its a great smelling soap its a bit strong at first but you'll fall in love with it pretty quick with use. The cons i can think of are subjective but if it matters to you here they are: 1. Strong scent on arrival (not a big deal it goes away and its not a bad scent just differeent) 2. Packaging is a hit or miss i've order a total of 3 of these so far and more than half of them can in a semi crushed box (doesnt matter much because its slight damage to only the box and the soap is completely fine and usable) 3. Longevity isn't all the great, short lifespan in the shower. Get a soap box or a wooden tray to place it on to keep it lasting longer. 4. Scent does not last on your skin. a slight scent of the soap for a bit and it goes away. 5. Pricing its like $5 for a bar more or less. in terms of soap its not cheap because you can get them for a dollar at a local store or walmart, HOWEVER, I feel this soap is WELL WORTH is price because it works so well. 6. Once you buy one you'll want to buy more and you might look into buying more $5+ dollar soaps because this smells so good and cleans so well. In end result definitely buy this soap and give it a try. The scent you may or may not like,(its a very masculine scent i'll add) but it definitely cleans well. Try it.

Great soap. Yes it does have a strong smell. Wish it wasn't so expensive.

The soap came well packed. I have used it several times now and i have noticed my hair. beard and skin feels a lot softer. The smell was a little aggressive once out of the box but toned down once wet and used a couple of time. I will purchase again.

Ottimo prodotto. Per me che soffro di psoriasi lo trovo delicato e adatto alla mia pelle sensibile. L'odore di cenere sparisce dopo un po', quindi non rappresenta un problema e con il passare del tempo ci si abitua

Soap helped clear my PUPPS rash. Definitely recommend for anyone suffering from this pregnancy rash. After the first use i felt it aggravated the rash but then i gave it another try and started to see an improvement after using 2 or 3 times. After about a week of use rash was reduced by 70%. Will continue using this until the end of my pregnancy. Smell is not bad at all and once you wash it off the smell doesnt stay

Das neue AXE Duschgel riecht nach purer Männlichkeit. Richtig? FALSCH! Wenn du riechen willst, wie deine Mutter, warum benutzt du dann nicht einfach ihr Duschgel? Du könntest dir allerdings auch endlich einen verdammten Bart wachsen lassen und dich mit vernünftiger Seife für Männer waschen und riechen wie ein Lagerfeuer im feuchten Herbstwald. Also worauf zur Hölle wartest du noch? Diese Seife ist der Hammer! Ihr rauchiger Geruch passt perfekt zu meinem Bart, meinem Flanellhemd und meiner Axt, und sauber macht sie auch noch. Trotzdem ist der Geruch, der am Körper bleibt, dezent genug, um nicht aufdringlich zu sein. Die Haut wird zudem nicht ausgetrocknet, und das, obwohl ich zu sehr trockener Haut neige, die selbst von einem "feuchtigkeitsspendenden" Duschgel von Nivea nicht beeindruckt ist. Was mir außerdem gefällt, und weswegen ich mir die Seife hauptsächlich gekauft habe, ist, dass sie vollkommen natürlich ist. Kein Parfüm, Keine Chemie - so muss das sein! Und da diese Rezension sehr an das männliche Geschlecht gerichtet war, hier ein Wort an die Damen: Wenn ihr auf naturprodukte steht und zum Männermagneten werden wollt, ist diese Seife ein Geheimtipp für euch! ;)
