Review: Great product - Worked well Review: Easy to use, not an intense. long lasting stain - I've been using body-quality powdered henna for several years, which is time-consuming, messy, and stinky. However, I get a nice intense stain (I use 1/2 henna, 1/2 cassia). I am a brunette, and want to reproduce a stain that is makes my white hair strawberry blonde or amber. I have tried Surya golden brown, which turned my white hair a weird grayish color. I hoped to get a deeper golden color, so I tried this. In all the product was good, but not to the standard I wanted. Product pros: 1. Super easy to use, especially if you've used henna pastes. You just squirt it on your scalp and leave it for 30 minutes or more. I wanted a deeper color, so I left it on for 2 hours. 2. Smell nice. Henna paste has a strange odor that lasts for about a week. If you do roots once a month, 1/4 of your life is spend stinky. 3. Conditions and left my hair glossy and smooth. Product cons: 1. The color is weak. My white hair turned a light blonde, straw colored, and this was using the whole bottle and leaving it on for 2 hours. Also, this brand uses something to coat the hair in color, and this coating lasts a few days. I wish they wouldn't, because the coating gives an un-natural greyish tint. 2. The color doesn't last as long as henna paste, which so far (4+ years) has been permanent. I rarely henna paste my ends (maybe twice in 4 years), and the color is still a natural golden on my white hairs. In all, this is much easier than henna paste, but doesn't deliver the same quality of intensity and permanence. I'm going to try Surya copper color next. If I cannot get a golden/amber color on my white hair, I may go back to henna paste. The product was delivered in a few days. Although I ordered 2 bottles, I only received one, but was only charged for one as well. Update: Since writing this review, I have tried the copper color. Again, the first few days I was left with a strange color, and my scalp and hairline were orange. After a few days, my scalp went back to its normal color, and the white hairs were a nice golden, a bit brassy though. That was about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and my white hairs are yellow, but not the amber color that I get with home-mixed henna paste. Still, I'm so lazy, and I hate the henna smell, I will continue to use Surya henna creme.

Blondes Beware: Mustard-yellow hair.
I received this color as a free sample from a rep at the health food store where I work. I tried it on my naturally blonde hair before work yesterday. Although the application process is simple, and it's not smelly like other hair colors, I was extremely disappointed in the outcome. I went from a medium blonde/light blonde to what I can only call "Mustard yellow" blonde. (For what it's worth, I can successfully use golden blonde hues from Garnier and others without any problem, and the shade usually looks close to my natural color). Unfortunately, the henna version was embarrassingly unnatural. It literally looked like I'd put mustard or turmeric in my hair. I read online that you can use oil to help remove the color, so I applied oil and washed it multiple times throughout the day (yes, even while at work because it was so awful-looking). It has only slightly faded. I've considered having it stripped out, but I'm going to see if it fades more over the next few days. My coworkers couldn't even pretend it was a good color. We all hugged and laughed, and agreed we won't be recommending this product - at least in the lighter shades - to others. Our customers with dark hair do like the product, but they say they notice color coming out in the water every time they wash for weeks on end. I'm giving it 2 stars because I like the packaging and the concept, and with the right type of hair/color it would probably be fine.
