Oxo Good Grips Easy-Clean Compost Bin - 1.75 Gal/6.62 L Gallon 13273400UK

I highly recommend this Compost Bin. It's countertop-friendly & durable. It's made my composting routine hassle-free and much more pleasant. Good buy!

The lack of corners inside and the removable lid makes this bin super easy to wash. It has a smaller footprint and doesn’t take up too much space on the counter.

Recomendable.

Muito pequeno.

Great countertop bin - wide mouth with a sturdy lid. Also effortless to wipe down. Super pleased with the product 😀

I was looking for a nice, simple, countertop compost bin, and I'm very pleased with this one. We used to have one of the common ceramic style bins (a gift from a friend) and that one "educated" us a lot about what is important with one of these countertop style bins. The ceramic style bin had these issues: 1. Heavy. This becomes quite troublesome when lugging it to the backyard to empty it. 2. Fragile. It eventually broke completely, but even before it fell apart, there were cracks and chips all over it before long (and we did not abuse it more than would be normal). 3. Looks. While it looked nice at first, it was too large to clean effectively, and as I mentioned above, it got all sorts of chips and cracks in it quite quickly (mostly from our attempts to clean it). It looked terrible. 4. Lid. This was my biggest problem with the ceramic style bin (and almost all of the others I found when looking). Here's the scenario: You have a dinner plate full of scraps, a cutting board, a bowl, or something else similar in your hands and you need to dump it into the compost bin. But, you need to remove the (heavy, ceramic) lid, so you put the stuff down and take off the lid. The bottom of the lid is NASTY with compost gunk, so you don't want to set it on the counter. Where do you put it? Usually in the sink, but then that gunk is in the sink (and you're in the middle of cooking). Not only that, but now the smell goes everywhere in the kitchen while you fumble around. This great little OXO bin has none of these problems. I love it. 1. It is very lightweight. It is smaller than many of the other bins out there, but I haven't found this to be troublesome, and at least you aren't straining under the weight when you carry it out to empty it. 2. Washable. The lid pops off easily, and the inside is just smooth plastic. The two pieces fit easily into our dishwasher (which is another benefit of the smaller size). Plus, with the tapered bottom, I find nowhere near as much stuff sticks to the inside as our older bins. 3. Tough. This thing is simple and plenty rugged. And it doesn't look bad on the counter-top either (I think the smaller size helps here as well). The plastic is not thin and flimsy, as you'd expect for an OXO product. In any case, it is certainly substantially more rugged than any ceramic style bin. 4. One-handed use. Need to scrape a plate or cutting board into the bin? Pop up the lid with one finger, and It Stays There. Pop it back down when you're done. Simple, efficient, and it minimizes the smell "pollution". The price is right. If you're looking for a small, countertop-style compost bin that is simple to use, look no further.

So much better than those nasty green compost bins. Love the design but haven't worked out how the lid comes off as only just received. Very easy to clean anyway so can't see a need to remove it. It is a shiny surface which it doesn't appear to be in the photo but it's a nice dark grey and works well with granite work tops - love the hint of green and the inside is smooth. Handle is sturdy and it seems to be very well made - the double skin with the green lining makes it look/feel like a quality product
