Jaronx for BMW 3 Series E90/E91 Door Handle Replacement Kit Interior

I picked this up to replace the interior door handle on my 2009 BMW E90, and it ended up being exactly what I needed. The original handle was starting to break down and get that sticky, rubbery feel that a lot of E90 interior parts develop over time. This replacement fixed that completely. Fit, finish, and color match are spot on. Once installed, I honestly can’t tell a difference between this and the factory piece in both look and feel. Great OEM look, but made from a hard plastic that feels like it will handle heat and age far better than the original. Comes with nice screws as mounting hardware, much simpler to install than how the original handle was from factory. You do need to drill out the original handle mounting points to install this, but that only takes a few minutes. This was also the cheapest full handle I could find, so I'm very happy with the value.

The physical product appears to be good and I can recommend it from that perspective. Time will tell on how it holds up with heat. Purchased these to replace the BMW handles that were gumming up. My lower score is attributed to the supplied screws. They are insufficient for the installation, at least in my case. The screws supplied are small and phillips head, not torx or similar. Since the screws are very small, the depth of the area used to bite and place torque was insufficient. The screw driver was slipping out and easily rounding the head. I ended up using screws I had on hand. I can recommend the handles but be aware you may need to have alternate hardware on hand if the screws supplied don’t work for you. Good luck.

Happy with it. I do quite a bit of work on my trucks and cars and boat and skid steer and business work truck. I say that just to make the point self-mechanic isn't new to me. But watching YouTube videos for replacing this door handle was super intimidating. Give me engine work and I can tackle it. Doing body clips and removing door panel and anything interior. And I will cringe. I had this job done in under an hour!!! I was super happy with how it went. I have very limited interior removing experience. Went without a hitch. Search a couple YouTube videos and a Pelican Parts DIY video. And pay attention. And you'll be golden. I did find 4 washers in my shop drawers to help out the screws.

Looks great and got rid of the sticky, gooey original handle. I just wish they made it in the Dakota Gray color of my 2007 335i, but I found that Rustoleum Painter's Touch UltraCover in Granite color (Rustoleum # 334069) was a near perfect match. I normally would not use Rustoleum on plastic, but this particular paint claimed to be plastic-safe and the color was the best match I found, so I gave it a try and it worked! I did first scuff up the smooth back side of the handle with 800 grit sandpaper to help the paint adhere. Time will tell whether it holds up as well as the SEM Color Coat that I normally use on vinyl and plastic. Installation requires removing the door panel, but there are several good YouTube videos out there to guide you. It took me about an hour to install the handle once the paint dried.

They are new so they definitely work and look good. And you dont have to worry about that gooey black sticky stuff on your hands. The fit just right and the black matches the black interior of my car.

Product arrived on time and is good quality

Originally bought because the one in the car became sticky due to melted rubber. This one is good, doesn't seem like that will happen. Installation is a bit of a pain. It's not just a simple swap. This isn't the product's fault though, its BMW's. You need to take the door panel off, drill through the existing rivets (4 of them on my car) on the old handle (they're plastic so its not that bad to drill through) and then use the screws that come with this one to install it in the old rivet holes. If you have a drill it'll take probably 5 minutes assuming you know how to take the door panel off. Otherwise it'll take a while to manually dig out the old rivets. I used a butter knife and a torx bit, took me a half hour but I got it done. New door handle looks clean and doesn't stick when you touch it.
