Good book
Lallan Sweets by Srishti Chaudhary is a delightful, feel-good story filled with nostalgia, family bonds, and the charm of simpler times. Set in 1995, the book takes you back to an era of Kinetic scooters, Bollywood songs, and a slower, more connected way of life. The story is not just about love but also about the values of family, relationships, and perseverance. The protagonist, Tara Taneja, is an ambitious and independent young woman trying to prove herself in a patriarchal society. Her family runs Siyaka's most famous sweet shop, Lallan Sweets, and her grandfather, Lalaji, decides to pass on the business not through inheritance but by challenging his grandchildren to a series of quirky, filmy tasks. Tara, along with her cousins Rohit and Mohit, competes to discover the "magic ingredient" that will make them the rightful heir to Lallan Sweets. The beauty of this book lies in its simplicity and relatability. Tara's character is raw, real, and incredibly inspiring. She's strong yet vulnerable, ambitious yet rooted in her values, and her journey is one that many readers will resonate with. What truly stands out is the book's nostalgic vibe. It transports readers to the 90s with its heartfelt references to Bollywood and the simpler joys of life, reminding us of a time when relationships were less complicated and family bonds were cherished. At its core, this story is about love—not just romantic love, but the love we have for our families, our dreams, and ourselves. It's about pausing in life's chaos, cherishing the little things, and realizing that the magic ingredient to happiness might already be within us. Lallan Sweets is a tender, beautifully written tale that will leave you smiling, teary-eyed, and with a heart full of warmth. It's a reminder to embrace the sweetness of life, no matter how challenging the recipe may seem. If you're looking for a book that feels like a hug for your soul, this is it.

Very cozy and comforting read 😍
The story is set in late 90s in a small town of U.P. called Siyaka, where the big question is who will take over Lallan Sweets, the family’s famous sweet shop. But Lalaji Instead of handing the shop to one of his grandchildren (Tara, Rohit, and Mohit) creates a challenge for them. Whoever finds the “magic ingredient” behind his special laddoos will earn the shop. Tara teams up with her childhood crush Nikku, and their search for that magic ingredient takes them from Mathura to Ludhiana. It starts as a simple hunt but slowly turns into a journey filled with family secrets, old stories, and a lot of emotions and adventures. This book felt really comforting to read. The whole adventure of searching for the secret ingredient kept me hooked from the beginning. Their journey was simple but exciting, and it made me want to keep turning the pages. The bond between Tara and Nikku felt very natural sweet without being cheesy and I enjoyed their moments the most. All the the characters felt soo real. It’s also my second book by Srishti Chaudhary, and I must to say her writing style is genuinely very easy to read. She creates characters that feel very real, without any unnecessary drama. That’s something I really appreciate. I also have to say this: the book cover is extremely cute. It’s the kind of cover that instantly pulls you in. Anyone who sees it will want to pick it up. Overall, it’s a warm, cozy read that made me feel good after a long time. I loved the vibe, the characters, and the softness of the story. I would definitely read it again.
