Up until recently I've only ever used a multimeter to test for mains voltage, but that's clearly not the safest option. This little device is much safer. The audible and visual indicator is very clear and gives you peace peace of mind to carry out your job. Very handy.

This NCV tester is of good quality and it's very easy to differentiate between a live and a neutral wire. At a glance you can know if the wire is live and it also shows the voltage strength in the form of bars. If by chance you can't see the screen of the tester you can hear the beeps which it emits to know if a wire is live. It even has an inbuilt led light to work in the dark.
