Blackbeard for Men - Instant Brush-on Beard & Mustache Color - 1-pack (Brown/Auburn)

This is the first beard color I've tried and I'm impressed. It covers well, looks natural, is easy to apply, doesn't make a mess, and doesn't come off onto your hands after you let it try. I tend to touch my beard throughout the day. It will fade a bit where you tend to touch it, but it won't leave color on your hands.

I'm pleased with this. I knew the application technique is sound as I've tried a mascara brush which is great, but the stuff comes off. This Blackbeard solution seems to stay on well, and it's very quick to apply. I don't want full coverage, I just want to balance out some of the greys (no such thing, by the way). It absolutely makes me look younger, it's good fun! The texture does feel weird, so if you're used to stroking beard it is an odd feeling, but that's not a big price to pay. I might increase this to 5 stars once I've used it longer and worked out how long it lasts, how much value I'm getting. Expensive though; nearly £18 inc. postage. I'm using a mascara brush for a quarter of that and it works similarly.

First negative: I dropped mine ~ 3’ on the linoleum B as thrown floor after first use and it broke open, the screw top busted off inside the cover. So not sure how I’m going to continue to use this, as I’m sure it will dry out very quickly. Second negative: you don’t get a lot. But it does seem like you should be using this sparingly; a little seems to go a long way. Third negative: color options are limited. I the lightest color available is still pretty dark. A light brown and/blond color would be welcomed. Fourth negative: feels “gunky”. Is that a word? I only got one use out of mine so cannot practice to see if I over did it the first time but I suspect that the hair will feel unnatural no matter the amount used. All that said, I was surprised with how good of a job small little strokes of this stuff did covering up the gray. I thought the results were very natural looking from more than a couple feet away, closer it looked like ... something was going on. Note they the brown/Auburn that I got seemed a bit red and sometimes even pinkish in various light, but I don't think that would be noticeable if my wife wasn’t looking so closely, checking it out. Final note a shower with a few times of shampoo and through cleaning with fingers washed it all out no problem. Wasn’t easy but it did come out with some minor effort. All in all I’d say the concept and product is good but I think a bit more quality of a bottle and an additional color or two would help this product along.

if you dont want to dye your beard this will suffice but it will need topping up daily
