I used this aluminum LED channel kit to install LED strips in my kitchen ceiling, and the final result looks incredibly professional. These are fantastic. We use them to build a recessed light strip in our shower niche. The plastic cover clips so nicely and it’s the perfect width for an LED strip.

There’s things to know about installing these tracks. Thursday avoid running track along a stud because you will cut out the support of one side of the Sheetrock.. and she, if you run into that use the plastic anchors provided in the kit, which I didn’t know that until after it was too late lol. I haven’t completely installed the LEDs in the lens. I will do a further update..

This has appeared to work well but only time will tell. I set 3 2x4’s side by side to set the channels in so I can screw the dry wall to studs. 2x4’s need to be set fairly perfectly because if one is deeper than the others, the channel will distort when tightening screws. Not enough provided screws, no where close, I bought a bunch more. I feel using the provided drywall anchors would be a mistake because the offset would cause a visible hump when mudding in. Also, good luck getting them to line up. It has occurred to me that the small gap between the channel lip and wings may not be deep enough. You can barely get enough mud over the screw heads. I’m worried the screw heads will start to show over time. And that is why you definitely don’t want to use the drywall anchors; I guarantee the mud over the screw heads will pop out. I have not completed the project yet so I can’t say anything about the effectiveness of the diffuser strip. I have light strips with led’s that are very close together so it should be fine. I will update later.

Not the easiest to install but thats to be expected. Defiantly great product for the money.

Buen producto

cut the channel with multi tool and dont have to be precise as the flanges allow for lots of coverage. putty then in and away you go. alot of feathering in though and the channel gets gunked if not careful with putty so just carried a wet rag. I am a homeowner if I can do it anyone can.
