AmeriColor, Super Black, .75 Ounce Bottle, Soft Gel Paste Food Color

I had my doubts at first..I used melted dark chocolate AND cocoa powder to start the buttercream. If you want black buttercream, always start with a brown. If you dont want chocolate flavoured buttercream, use brown food colouring, but always start with a brown buttercream before trying to make it black.At first, when I added the black, it looked very dark grey and kind of shiny?? But I left it in the fridge for 2 nights and voila!! true jet black buttercream icing!!TIP: let the buttercream rest for a minimum on 48 hours in the fridge and I promise, you WILL get true jet black. I wrapped mine in cling film. Also, I used it in dark chocolate ganache. i only used 2 tiny drops and I got the perfect jet black for a drip effect.

I love these dyes! Great pigment. You don’t have to use a lot. The prices is high but, like I said prior, you don’t have to use much! The quality is never a dissapointment! A cookiers go to!

I needed this so I bought it. I looked everywhere for the quantity but only found inaccurate weight on the description. Turns out that it’s 0.75oz, it’s quite pricey for sure a tiny thing.
